Doctor Who Avatar Contest: "So British"

The Mirrorball Man

Vice Admiral
Admiral
This week's theme is "So British". :)

Doctor Who is a British show, and from time to time, it has reflected or incorporated all kinds of quintessentially British symbols, traditions, monuments or values, from the Royal Family to the Union Flag, five o'clock tea and Scottish kilts. Let's play with that, and let me apologize in advance for all the clichés and stereotypes that are bound to pop up in this thread.

I'll post the voting thread in two or three days, so hurry up. :techman:

Here's my entry:

Well might as well stick with 5...

Concorde, and yes Concorde was Anglo-French, but this was a British Ariways Concorde as well ;)

^ Dang it, I was about to post one with Rose wearing that shirt too! :klingon:

EDIT:
Okay, here's mine then. Not only does it have the very British Big Ben, but it's being shown on a BBC News broadcast. :D

I see the Rose has already been used so I wouldn't want to actually submit that one but the others seemed really "British" to me. I mean not only a double decker bus, but a whimsically flying double decker bus...

Well you have to pick just one you know

I wouldn't say the Sociialist Worker was typically British mind...of all of them the chips one means most to me :guffaw:

FYI, that's the clock tower for the Palace of Westminster (the Houses of Parliament) Big Ben is not visible here as it's the bell inside the clock tower, it's an easy mistake to make though.

I have to pick one? I'll have to think about it.

I was thinking more about Thatcher's Third Term than the Socialist Worker.

Ah, that's interesting. I'd always thought it was the whole clock tower, as references to "Big Ben" always seem to show the tower, as in the image I used: "Big Ben Destroyed" and there's the tower. You learn something new every day. :)
