Anyone else get a bad Beatles box set?

My dad just got his copy, and one of the Past Masters discs was missing. Instead there was another copy of Help!.

Has this happened to anyone else here?

No. I had a Mono set that was perfect. I haven't heard much problem with something like this, so it is probably a rarity. It does happen once in a while though. I've bought double live CD before, and ended up with two Disc Ones in the box. You can usually get it replaced by the retailer you purchased it from.

I just called Amazon (which is where he bought it from) and they said he has to send the whole box back, and the replacement won't be out for another month.

I had hoped that they would just send him a new disc to replace the one that was missing... Oh well, at least they didn't bitch.

I thought the next batch of boxes would have been out in another week or two, but maybe not. Usually, if it is only a single disc or double disc, they probably would have just sent the one disc. They've done that for me and didn't even ask for the duplicate disc to be returned.

In the case of the box set (especially if it is the mono set, which isn't sold individually disc-wise), they probably want to just replace the entire box. At least they are going to fix it.

Are the stereo and mono sets supposed to be available "for a limited time" only?
