I totally disagree about Linguini, I loved him & I think his relationship wth Remy was so cute.

I totally agree about Donkey. I havent even bothered to check out the 3rd Shrek film or any of the tv spin-off specials.

also Scrat's shtick got old fast.

More to the point, with the long and varied history of animation... you know there's got to be more awful characters then him, as he's, you know, at the least inoffensively likeable.

This list is more 'here's some characters from movies in the last ten to fifteen years that rubbed us the wrong way and also the Beatles' sort of thing.

You really should go for truly repugnant characters for lists like these, even if they're things nobody's ever heard of. That can be just more interesting to read about.

Good question, Kelthaz, but it looks like they're only going for animated characters in animated productions.

Given I've only seen the first Ice Age but I liked Scrat and I don't like Jerry Lewis. How did he get stuck at #2!?

Kitsune and Naru from Love Hina...Monsters

Naru comes off much better in the slightly less slapstick-oriented manga. Kitsune, however, does not. Near the end of the series, she has a moment of primal jerkdom I find hard to forgive, even with it being a work of fiction, and even allowing for the nature of LH.

As for my worst animated character :

Elmyra Duff - Nothing But Annoying. And they kept bringing her back.

Clearly the writer of this list didn't bother to do any research on the matter. I'm not a big Beatles fan, but if he bothered to look up Yellow Submarine, he would know the reason why the Beatles were animated (they didn't want to do another movie, even though they were contracted, so they figured an animated movie would be a way around that). Clearly, the author didn't bother to look anything up, so he could put a cutting remark.

Its definitely an acquired taste. And nobody hates Shinobu.

I don't think so. This reads more like one person's pet peeve list than anything else, and it should be given all the weight that sort of thing deserves.

Thing is the person who wrote this list gotta check his film-watching-fu. Linguini is NOT the leading man, Remy is! And Linguini is not that annoying.

I fact I don't see his point with several on the list, and the best one has some holes in it as well.
