Given that they're like 5 - 10 galaxies away from the Milky Way, way, way past where the Ancients have "seeded" human colonies, I'm kinda interested to see what they come up with for alien encounters.

... on the other hand, I'm calling it now. They'll run into humans left behind from an Ancient scout ship or something.

It's not grabbing me at all so far, aside from its cinematic feel. Maybe I'll get to like it once they go to planets and do Stargate-y stuff. But for now it seems a bit too much like BSG.

You're right about one thing, this show does really have a theatrical feel to it. It's bigger, bolder than either of the previous Gates.

I think they are more than 5-10 galaxies away, he said billions of light years, i bet it has traveled through hundreds if not more of galaxies

They said they are going to show non standard aliens, i hope so
