Yeah, it's still canon, in fact it was aired everywhere else, just not America.

Apparently. In E1, we saw Ballard as Echo's handler, and she'd assimilated all of her imprints into one whole, and in this episode, Ballard became Echo's handler after he found out she'd started assimilating all of her imprints into one whole. And we saw the beginning of Langdon and Saunders having a thing in this one, and they'd clearly had a thing in E1.

I loved it, but then I've dug every episode since "Man on the Street", except "Omega" (Alpha was too over-the-top). I think the show looks a lot slicker than it used to. So happy to see Alexis Denisof again. Bummed that his role was so tiny, but it will probably be bigger in future episodes, so hooray.

I thought this was an incredible episode. The show is really coming into its own.

Well, this episode got a whopping 2.57 million viewers (1.0/3 demo). There's no way they can renew it after this.

^I thought there was no way they would renew the show after last season :)

This was a decent episode. It was funny watching Apollo get it on with a chick while Helo was fretting. They should've done that in BSG :)

I don't quite understand how FOX thinks the ratings for Dollhouse can grow.

That said, this episode was really solid. Everything and everyone was interesting, which puts it a head and shoulders above almost every episode from Season 1. And it looks like they're definitely going somewhere, too.

The worst part is it was down from the show that was on before it.

Well, we might be entering an age where, thanks to DVD sales and legal online viewing sites like hulu.com, ratings do not play as critical a role as always. A cheap to produce show like Dollhouse, with steady sales and hulu views, might just get a third or even fourth season.

Meanwhile, we all get what is shaping into a very unique, quality program.

Regardless of the Brothers lead-in, which I don't believe shares cross over appeal thus a bad lead in, is the S2 debut up or down vs last episode from the spring?

Incidentally, IIRC the producer of TSCC said that Fox doesn't count Hulu viewings, but does count Fox on Demand viewings. Something to keep in mind.

    Above average.

Great, great scenes from Amy Acker and Fran Kranz was equally awesome.
The engagement plot was a bit less engaging though, but seeing Apollo and Helo kicking each others asses once more, made up for that.
As did Echo's newfound selfawareness. I got chills when she said "Who did they make me this time?".

Same when Topher said "I know what I know."
That gave me goosebumps which just proves once more how great Epitaph One actually was.

Above Average for the passages dealing with the Dollhouse itself.. a mere meh for the assignment itself (as usual)

It was pretty intense at times.. the scene with Topher and Saunders had me on edge (in a good way) and i'm really curious where all this is going.

The show suffered from slow development and i hope they pick up the pace somewhat to warrant other seasons so they can unveil the full picture instead of compressing everything into the final season just to get closure.

Having only watched the show on DVD, I rather enjoyed the slow build of Season 1, though I can definitely see how that would be a detriment on a weekly broadcast.

Does anyone know how many episodes of season 2 have actually been produced?

This show is likely going to get yanked before it airs a whole second season, unless something pretty spectacular happens. But i'd imagine the ratings are going to go down, not up.

I'd like to know if we are going to see a whole season 2 on DVD though.

I believe on wiki it says they got a 13 episode order for Season Two, so that should be it.

^ Thanks, I wasn't sure if that was something Fox are actually committed to or not though.

And Forbin, there is little point being blindly optimistic in the face of reality. Reality tells us that Fox will not often continue to air a show when it's numbers are in the toilet. It was a miracle it even got a second season, that's not pessimism, it's a fact.

Reality also tells us that shows that have only 2.5 million viewers don't usually suddenly become popular, no matter how good they are.

And I can't see FOX being stupid enough to not know this after decades of television have proved that fact.
So, I figure there must be something else behind their reasoning.
Otherwise they could've just cancelled the show after season one.
