TV's dog!!!

My friend and I, coming back from a stripper joint last night (hey, he paid for the two drinks I had to get) were debating this off and on through the night. What is TV's most famous dog, either animated or live-acton? Here were my top five, in not particular order..see if you agree...

1. Snoopy
2. Lassie
3. Scooby-doo
4. Rin-tin-tin
5. Brian (from Family Guy?)

With honorable mention to the Brady Bunch dog, and Jamie summer's kick as German Sheppard...

Would that be your top five, or am I missing someone, I mean, some mutt?

Rob

Lassie
Snoopy
Eddie from Frasier
Zeus and Apollo from Magnum
Scobby-doo

An honorable mention to Vincent "dog of doom" on LOST and K-9, robot dog-wonder on Doctor Who.

Scooby Doo
Snoopy
Lassie
K9
Gromit

I'd have Brian Griffin in there, but I think Gromit has been more influential on the medium...

If we're talking dogs acting like dogs, then:

Lassie
Eddie
Bouncer (from Neighbours)
The dog from The Littlest Hobo
Vincent

As for more anthropomorphic dogs:

Scooby-Doo
Pluto
Rowlf
Droopy
Gromit

In no order:

1. Gromit ("Wallce & Gromit")
2. Eddie ("Frasier")
3. Diefenbaker ("Due South")
4. Brian ("Family Guy")
5. Odie (Garfield)

I would flip Snoopy and Lassie after all Lassie played the title role and Snoopy was part of an ensemble cast.
Number 5 I would say Buck from Married with Children

I think Scooby wins hands down. Snoopy isn't really a "tv dog", and the rest don't have popular catch phrases.

Ree-hee-hee-hee-hee!

Lassie's number one, as far as pop-culture impact. That show is like 50 years old and people still remember it.
