WIP - Futuristic ship

Ok. The first support are more practical...you can at least go and live into them. I will go back to the original beam.

I am gonna try doing something else for the nacelle. The saucer of the Promotheus ? I'll do some research on that. Does it look like a fish = totally. A lot of our designs are based on the nature surrounding us.

Here's an update. I redid the nacelles, tell me what you think. They make me think of Batarangs...but apart that I like them. Maybe it's the tipping "nose" on the top that is out of place...

I tried a triangular saucer like the Prometheus...that didn't work very well. Mainly because Cinema 4D has a special way to make a pyramydal form, and it was very hard to handle the polygones. But also it didn't fit very well...

You can see I did a little bit of work almost everywhere to enhance the surface, and give it more depth. I completely redid my saucer because the texture was all over the place...

I really like those new engines. I think the more detailed design makes a HUGE difference. It'll look even sweeter when it's textured.

See, to me this actually looks retro. Like a crossbreed that would fit in the era between Vulcan circular nacelles, and the starfleet twin engine setup.

Begun some texturing. Got a problem with one, but for now I am doing the saucer section.

Oh neat. I like the placement of the name. Don't think I've ever seen a mesh with that arrangement before. Interesting spelling... :)

I still don't like the shape of the saucer. Even if you don't want to make it angular, at this point I'd say it needs to be a little shorter. It just seems really stretched out.

It's the exact same oval shape as the Enterprise E (On purpose). Exception that it isn't flat out on the lower part. The only problem is that Cinema 4D strech the polygons to make an oval. You see there isn't an oval shape in C4D, you have to make it with a sphere or a cylinder. Either way it doesn't do the oval shape justice because there is always a certain amount of deformation. I work around it...

As you can see I have updated my previous image with new texture. The lime texture are actually large glass windows with a luminosity and reflection. Either aluminium or titanium glass (They discarded Coconut glass :(, the Ferengi were eating it). Anyway here is a picture with only one low spotlight:

Well, I've always thought the Enterprise E was hideous.

But it's not just that the saucer looks stretched out. It looks stretched out compared with the relatively compact aft section of the shift. It's unbalanced.

i like this ship especially the way you went along a differant route then the cylinder/ tubes of the other ships

Thanks a bunch. I forgot something tho...I didn't want to do the escape pod and storing pod (Blue shape) like textures. A mistake on my part, but...this will serve me like a map for placement instead.

It has an intresting look. I think it can fit, considering the Federation is supposed to be made up of diverse cultures and races- they can contribute designs and ships too!

Here we go: I did the differents pods on top of the saucer. Better look, better placement too...

Ok. This is the down saucer textured, and also the frontal torpedo launcher. I didn't have a lot of maneuver with the model in this area, so I did it in texture only.
