I know you're joking, but honestly, none of that would surprise me if it actually did happen.

Re: Heroes: "Orientation" and "Jump, Push, Fall" 9/21 - Grade & Discus

Oh boy, I cant wait to see yet another season of Sylar pointing his finger at the rest of the cast & shouting LOSERS!

Re: Heroes: "Orientation" and "Jump, Push, Fall" 9/21 - Grade & Discus

I forgot that this was going to be a two hour premiere. I think this is the second time they've done this for the show.

Hopefully there won't be any paintings about the future this season...

Re: Heroes: "Orientation" and "Jump, Push, Fall" 9/21 - Grade & Discus

Please, GOD, let Mohinder go back to actually being the smart scientist instead of....whatever the hell he was last season.

Yeah, right.

Hopefully I'll be giving this an Excellent tonight, but somehow I doubt it.

Re: Heroes: "Orientation" and "Jump, Push, Fall" 9/21 - Grade & Discus

All,

Is this show even worth investing in? I am looking for new shows to watch now that BSG, TSCC and pretty much everything else I used to watch got canceled or concluded its run. I have seen the first season in its entirety and that is about it. Am I too far behind to catch up?

Re: Heroes: "Orientation" and "Jump, Push, Fall" 9/21 - Grade & Discus

^ Not at all! Basically nothing that happened in seasons 2 or 3 bears any relevance and was either undone or ignored. All you need to know is that the ending of season 1 didn't actually see the death of... well, anyone frankly. You saw Hiro back in time? Forget it, it doesn't even matter what happened there or what happened next. I don't see any reason at all to discourage you from jumping on in this season... aside from the fact that there's every chance it could be absolutely terrible, like season 3.

The best part is, any of this could happen and wouldn't be a surprise. Oh wait, one of them is true! Could it be the desperate ratings-grabber? Of course it is!

Since when do Hiro and Ando have a quest to help other people with powers? Oh yes that's right - they don't. Aside from the first 5 minutes of volume 4. I'll try and watch this, but I really, really do not have any hope for it being any good.

Re: Heroes: "Orientation" and "Jump, Push, Fall" 9/21 - Grade & Discus

Have I missed it or has NBC done ZERO marketing for this season. I'm not surprised. They like everyone else has written this show off.

That's on my laundry list of the Top 100 Things to Fix About this Stupid Show. (For a while I was wondering whether they'd entirely drop-kicked Mo from the cast...which would be a shame because there's nothing wrong at all with the notion of having a scientist-character in a sci fi show, or that he's played by a hot guy. :D)

I don't know what to expect tonight, but am still cautiously optimistic...

I've seen some TV spots, but they're rather tired and uninspired. Anyone know if there have been ads during Leno? The show got kick-ass ratings at least at first and would have been a good ad vehicle.

Get S1 on DVD, it's very good. Then decide whether to watch more if the characters grab you - because the writing veers from "very good" to "was this written by baboons who escaped from the LA Zoo?" (weighted towards the latter) in S2 and S3.

If you want to see shows that are currently good and won't strain your patience to the breaking point, I would recommend Lost, Dexter, Breaking Bad, Chuck (if the fluffiness doesn't drive you away), Mad Men (unless you are easily bored), Sons of Anarchy and Big Love.
Basically nothing that happened in seasons 2 or 3 bears any relevance and was either undone or ignored.
The only thing, really, that has happened is that the characters' interrelationships have developed under fire to some extent that wasn't true in S1.

Mohinder, Peter and Matt are all buddies now, sorta kinda, although there's an undercurrent of disappointment and mutual hostility there, too. Claire has bonded with her Petrelli relations to one extent or another. Claire's relationship with Noah is still ping-ponging uselessly. Sylar has developed a fixation on Claire. Peter and Sylar, I dunno how the hell you define "former brothers/occasional enemies" as a coherent relationship of any kind. Everyone is mad at/scared of Sylar. Sylar probably still harbors major resentment of Angela, but perhaps still has a twisted filial devotion. Angela and Noah are the grownups who have teamed up to run the show because the "kids" can't be trusted. Angela, Noah and Matt are embroiled in a conspiracy of silence that will blow up in everyone's faces when revealed (and poor Matt was pretty much strongarmed into it.) Niki or whichever triplet she is now, is just kinda there. Ditto for Hiro and Ando.

Except for Niki, Hiro and Ando, who have never been successfully integrated into the network of relationships, this could be great stuff in the hands of more precise and effective writers. If they can do something interesting and basically believable with this ungodly mess, I'm willing to just forget how we got here.

They had ads plastered all over Sunday Night Football yesterday. Don't know about at other times of day because that's the only thing I watch on NBC.

When will this be on Hulu? I don't have a TV so Hulu is all I can use these days. What's the usual lag time?

Re: Heroes: "Orientation" and "Jump, Push, Fall" 9/21 - Grade & Discus

House in the psych ward sounds more promising than the two hour "Heroes" season premiere.

I've always have zero interest in shows about doctors or lawyers so it's a pretty easy choice for me on which show I want to watch on Mondays.:rommie:

I have seen season 1 and I do have it on dvd. I thought it was ok but not the 2nd Coming like everyone originally portrayed it out to be.

Its good to know that I can still jump right in though. Not good per se on the quality of the last two seasons that basically someone who tooka two year hiatus can come back in and expect simply a little more of the same.

I had a lot of fun with season 1, but aside from some very minor plot developments, it was a completely predictable season. Except, of course, for the anti-climactic final fight.

I've never been able to get into House. Frankly there are so few shows that grab me, that Heroes return is kinda a big deal for me. :D Don't get cancelled, show!

Re: Heroes: "Orientation" and "Jump, Push, Fall" 9/21 - Grade & Discus

I'm glad I work Monday nights. It prevents me from being even remotely tempted to watch Heroes.

I completely agree. The final fight at the end of S1 was really underwhelming.

Season 1 was great... until the finale. The seeds of what went wrong since are all planted there.
