I hung out with my best friend tonight!

I know it's kind of silly to be posting about, but I'm very excited. It's been about 3 months since I got to hang out with my best friend one-on-one. Work tends to prevent us from seeing each other, and sometimes I feel like we aren't even friends anymore.

But tonight we got to hang out! We went out to dinner, got a little drunk, then came back to my place and hung out and got a little more drunk! I was trying to make him watch Firefly with me, but we haven't watched any of it in a while. Tonight we finally started up again, had some beer, and watched about 5 episodes. It was a really great time.

Anywho, as some of you know, I'm moving away in a few weeks, so I'm just very excited to be spending time with my best friend before that happens.

I actually don't remember the last time I spent an entire evening with friends... it's been months. I guess I'm in a point of transition at the moment, ant the old friends don't quite fit my sensibilities anymore, and new friends haven't yet materialised. Strange place to be, yet exciting.

Of course it's possible Though, that said, women and men, heterosexuals and homosexuals are, in my experience, all equally likely to desire alcohol as part of bonding. I have friends of all descriptions, and I was in fact the only one who ever suggested "how about coffee?"

Glad to hear you had some fun with your pal, RoJo! Me, I can't even remember when I could last say that I had a best friend to hang out with. It's been so long. Last week I sent a birthday e-mail to a friend I haven't seen in a few months, partly to let him know that I'm still willing to keep in touch, but he hasn't responded yet... and I don't really expect him to.

Ah well, c'est la vie. I suppose I just need to make some new friends -- easier said than done in my case, but you never know what new friendships are right around the corner.
