Like a fourth of China is directly descended from Ghengis Kahn. I don't think any of them care, and I don't think anyone blames them for a swath of rape and murder cut across the globe. Let it go.
Besides, I don't think anything bad happened to the relatives a few years back who wanted decades of back residuals for sales of Mein Kamf. I mean other than not getting them.

My brother emailed me once asking me if we were related to a certain SS doctor (Aribet Heim - Dr. Death) who had done his bad stuff in Mauthausen. Wincing, I looked up Heim's history and did what I could to trace his family.
Thankfully we weren't related in any way. I breathed a sigh of relief.
But it gave me a smidgen of how shitty it would be to be related to someone infamous like Hitler, Mengele or any of the high-profile ones. It wouldn't be your fault that your ancestor or cousins or whatever were infamous and horrid, but I would think it would be a burden and I'm one would certainly not want to discuss it.

Yes, there is a good chance that could happen. There are some very fucked up people around the world.
Isn't there an English guy who is Hitler's half brother (same father, different mother)? If I remember correctly this guy doesn't mind admitting the connection even though he disapproves of everything Hitler did.
EDITED TO ADD: The man I was thinking of is William Patrick Hitler later known as StuartHouston), and who was mentioned in the OP . He was born in Britain, spent some time in Germany and eventually moved to the USA. He joined the US Navy in 1944.
William Patrick died in 1987 but he had four sons who are Hitler's great nephews.
None of the above information has been secret. I first read about them years ago, along with information about Hitler's sister (Paula)
