NFL Football 2009

That is one of the most impressive plays I've seen in recent years, but I've been watching and rewatching that clip all afternoon and evening, mostly because the reaction to the catch and the TD is just so much fun. :D

Man, I felt so bad for the Bengals when I saw that play. What a way to lose a game.

Listening to Mike & Mike this morning reminded me of something I thought when I watched that play. Stokely was VERY smart, in that he ran parallel to the goal line until he had to dive in for the TD, running off as much time as he could. That was a heady play.

Today is grinding along! I want it to be 7 so I can watch the Pats on MNF. I would love to see an early 2007-eqsue performance out of them. That team was fun to watch, and last year ended agonizingly close but out of the playoffs.

Plus I can't wait for the old school red throwbacks.

That sucks dude. The hopeless feeling of a season that may end before it really begins is fresh one among Pats fans.

Ugh...Urlacher's out for the season. Sure isn't easy being a Chicago Bears fan.
That sucks. I'm a Packers fan, but Urlacher is one of the greats, and the league is better off with him on the field :(

Oh, and that illegal contact against Harris was a bullshit call :scream:

First of all, even if that happened 20 yards down field, it's completely ticky-tacky to call it, he barely touched him. Second of all, the receiver was 4-5 yards from the line of scrimmage, which means Harris could've leveled him and it should've been legal. Finally, the receiver lined up in an illegal formation by not covering the tackle at the line of scrimmage. So by my count one official managed to screw up three things in favor of the Bears on a single play!

My God do I hate NFL officiating. Sorry for the rant :)

I heard the refs got rings too after the last couple of Steelers Superbowl wins. They were as integral as anything else.

Pick Kolb up for a week. He'll suck, but if the Eagles have to live with him, you can too :p

For a second, I thought he was hot dogging it. Then I remembered the clock and realized that it was a very smart move on his part.

Eh, I have Karry Collins as a backup and they're playing the Texans this week. I think I'll be fine.

Glad my Packers won, but it wasn't pretty.

The game that surpised me was the Baltimore/Kansas City game. Not the outcome, but the fact that Baltimore scored 38 points and that KC was able to score 24 off Baltimore's defense. Never thought those two teams would put up numbers like that.

You saw flashes of Baltimore having an offense last season, so that didn't surprise me. The defense is a bit more of a concern to be honest.

Oh, LAH DEE FUCKIN' DAH. Thanks, world! It's not bad enough that Jay Cutler had to be running for his life all night because Aaron Kampman was up in his face about a second after the snap, and it's not bad enough that Des Clark took a helmet straight to his spine and still can't walk properly, that Matt Forte is having difficulty bringing His message and that Ron Turner still needs to get fucked and be run over by a fucking bus yesterday, but now Urlacher dislocates his fucking wrist! Awesome!

Fuck this noise. And now Lovie Smith is probably going to bring in Derrick Brooks because we all know how much he loves his Tampa 2 table scraps, nevermind that Brooks has probably been sitting in his recliner eating cheese doodles all fucking offseason. Shit, just find Adam Archuleta and put him in a uniform again, too, while you're at it.

They only scored 10 points against the defense, really. 7 came on that freak special teams blocked punt thing. 7 came off a 70 yard interception return that put the Chiefs at the 9 or so. The defense did fine, the Cheifs didn't get a first down until the 2 minute warning in the first half and only had 188 yards total offense, 50 of which came on one play. The score does make the game look a lot closer than it was. I'm not worried about the D; I'm worried about special teams.
