Transporter Assistant in The Cage

Regarding Pitcairn.
So no names for anyone even at this late date. I can't even remember where the Transporter Chief is referred to as Pitcairn in the final productiuon right off.

Sir Rhosis

Memory Alpha and IMDB call him Pitcairn. Don't know what their source is.

Early drafts had him as Pitcairn-memos from Kellem Deforrest research back up the Bounty connection.

it's hard to see in the pic but I think 4 eyes finished with his calculations and then closed the book and set his glasses on top of the closed binder. It was quite common for navigators and pilots to do calculations before making course corrections, etc. and since Roddenberry, Matt Jeffries, and the rest of the production team had military backgrounds this would have been seen as a normal piece of business back then...

Does Memory Alpha have the actor's name -- the little transporter guy -- or any other info about him?

Isn't he in the original out-line as the "non-descript transporter assistant"?

Even for a hollywood extra of the 1960's that got to make a person wonder about their career choice. TV jobs for asians were rare, and transporter chief Kyle did sometimes delivered lines.

I can easily see this man asking the air police sergeant if he wanted chicken soup, if only.

Pitcairn was to have appeared in The Menagerie (Part 2) but his scene was cut.

I haven't seen The Cage for a little while, and forgot how different the transporter console looked. I like the little "Martian" (War of the Worlds reference) monitors on stalks. ST '09 is kind of a blur in my memory, but didn't we see something similar on the transporter console when nu-Chekov was working the controls?

Just a reminder that the 'transporter console', here as in WNMHGB, is nothing more than the helm/nav console on longer supports.....
