Can anyone here draw what a JJ Abrams Enterprise-D might look like?

Since I'm a horrible drawer, I was wondering if any talented artists here might sketch what an Enterprise NCC-1701-D might look like if JJ Abrams were to create it. This is all just for fun, btw. So if you think your version looks bad, I don't mind at all, because it's better than anything I could draw I can assure you! :)

Re: Can anyone here draw what a JJ Abrams Enterprise-D might look like

It's fourteen miles long and the nacelles are shaped like "My Little Pony" dolls.

Re: Can anyone here draw what a JJ Abrams Enterprise-D might look like

opps, double post. Mods, go ahead and delete this one.

Re: Can anyone here draw what a JJ Abrams Enterprise-D might look like

Ok, dennis, but the my little pony hair has to be blue, and they have to be wearing sombreros.

Re: Can anyone here draw what a JJ Abrams Enterprise-D might look like

I would say the Nacelles would bulge in the front, have spinning wheels, engineering would look like a huge factory with big water pipes in it, and the bridge would have 1000 point-lights and lots of extra consoles, and a few panes of glass running to the ceiling for no reason. And the neck would have two extra photorp tubes for the heck of it, and the deflector would have moving parts even though it doesn't need it. The saucer would also be twice as large so the engineering section could look even smaller.

Re: Can anyone here draw what a JJ Abrams Enterprise-D might look like

I remember last time this came up I posted this, which was supposed to be a D-like ship. Though I preferred the secondary hull for this one.

I tend to do these on long journeys and I'm about to head out - I might have another crack at it with more Churchist parts.

Re: Can anyone here draw what a JJ Abrams Enterprise-D might look like

Judxavier had a really neat one, back before the movie came out. I can't find the image, but if he is still anywhere around, maybe he can bring it back. :)

Re: Can anyone here draw what a JJ Abrams Enterprise-D might look like

Well- I was planning on making a joke ship, but I actually kinda like this. Joke's on me. But in the spirit of the new Star Trek, this ship is as big as needed.

Re: Can anyone here draw what a JJ Abrams Enterprise-D might look like

Yeah, with some refinement, that might work. :) Is the saucer meant to be an oval, or circular?

Re: Can anyone here draw what a JJ Abrams Enterprise-D might look like

(After writing this, I don't know if it's how JJ'd design it, but how I would...)

A giant glowing organic living-crystal-like ship. It would look almost grown rather than built and jut out to sharp edges, but would be obviously bulbous like a living being, and almost all of the primary and most of the secondary hull would be transparent duranium. The nacelle pylons would be semi-translucent, pulsing with energy from the power transfer conduits, and curve almost menacingly hydra-esque out and up to immense, mesmerizingly powerful multicolor nacelles...glowing, teaming, otherworldly...cauldrons of the lifeforces of the universe. It would be tall, bold, alien to our sensibilities yet somehow "right"...eerie yet not unwelcoming and strangely indomitable.

Refinement?! Man(Mad), I spent at least 5 minutes drawing this thing! ;)

Seriously though, I would say oval, just because if JJ's would probably keep such a recognizable design element. I guess. But it would be a flatter hull, as opposed to the curved organic look. That would go to the nacelles and struts. Those struts are a little long looking, and the nacelles would remain cyclindrical.

But she is bigger then the E-D. I'd say at least 1200 meters, but not much larger or smaller then that.

Ordinarilly, other then a Romulan or other Alien ship, I would NEVER EVER EVER make a Federation ship much larger then a Galaxy Class ship.

One more note- The ship has 3 Defiant Type (the 4 deck, 120m version) ships embedded into the underside of the hull (like the Captains Yachts). 2 on the primary hull, and 1 aft, between the warp nacelles.

She's a long haul ship and that allows for some serious exploring and makes her super safe!

God help me, that actually looks really cool. I'd love to see this in 3D.

5 minutes! Man, you work fast. :) This really is interesting, though... I think it could actually work. I don't know about the embedded Defiant class ships, though... maybe in this new universe, those don't even exist. I would just add several more shuttlebays, big ones, and have some big, long range shuttles in there. :)

It doesn't look bad at all. It does NOT, however, in any way remind me of "something you'd see in an Abrams version of TNG." It's too nicely-proportioned, too graceful, too consistent with what we've seen before yet still not particularly derivative.

I can easily see an "Enterprise F" looking quite a bit like this. But not an "Abrams production Enterprise D." The Abrams-D would basically look like a flattened Death Star for a primary hull, stuck to an extended SW-ROTS "Confederation Cruiser" for a secondary hull, with two nacelles which would look like (and be sized similarly to) large ocean liners.

Re: Can anyone here draw what a JJ Abrams Enterprise-D might look like

Well, considering large ocean liners are only about 1100 feet long, I am guessing that the nacelles above are much larger than that.

Heh- That's what happened to me when I started making it. Thanks.

Ya- I've got to become pretty quick with the Draw programme. I understand what you're saying about the Defiant Class. But it's been a secret pet idea of mine that only works on a fanboy big long range exploration ship.

As for shuttle bays, you can see the uber large one on the primary hull, and there are two on the neck as well. You can faintly see the port side shuttle bay, and note that it's not small.

Thanks. Not being a fan of JJ's super-prise (tm), I just couldn't bring myself to go overboard on this ship. I tried. The warp nacelles seem a little too much for a ship 100 years more advanced then the 1701. But oh well.

Funny that you mention Star Wars. My first thought was to do a giant squished blobby saucer on top of a Star Destroyer with two supper warp nacelles that would dwarf the rest of the ship. I couldn't do it, man. I just couldn't do it.

Re: Can anyone here draw what a JJ Abrams Enterprise-D might look like

The JJ Enterprise really doesn't look a whole lot like a Star Wars capital ship. One of the prequel small craft, maybe, yeah. It's not nearly chunky enough and the greebly level is essentially the same as the average Federation spacecraft.

That's why I referenced the Death Star and the "Confederation Cruiser" instead of, say, an ISD or Correllian Corvette. Both have the same general "greebliness" that I think we'd see.

Seriously... squash the death star flat, but keep the bazillion tiny windows, the ring around the diameter, the curious periodic texturing... can you picture it?

Picture, then, the QE-II with a glowy blob-shape nested somehow into the bow.. and that'd be the engine nacelle. A totally different style than the primary hull, of course, though... just like the JJ-Prise's nacelle and primary hull designs.

And the secondary hull would be yet another deviation of style, dissimilar to either of the above. More "industrial" looking, yet very sculpted... which is the same effect you get from the "Confed cruisers" in SW-ROTS.

I didn't mean to infer that you'd be talking about an angular, massively-exposed-hardware design.

Re: Can anyone here draw what a JJ Abrams Enterprise-D might look like

You forgot to put the existing JJ Ent in there for scale.
