Then again, the coaches in my high school used to drink (and occasionally sleep with) with their 17-year old students, so this is nothing.

I would be shocked at that, but my PE teacher is currently shacked up with a girl from my class. They've been seeing each other since her last year... his wife was not pleased.

I might be able to top that... I know of a 31-year-old teacher who actually married his 17-year-old student.

That has sorta got me beat... while I met my coach when I was 16 (and she was 25), we didn't start having a romantic relationship until I was 17 (and she was 26). And while she moved in with my family towards the end of my senior year (and got our own place by the end of that summer), we had a rather long engagement while we saved up for the wedding (about a year and a half after I graduated).

But she was not married or seeing anyone when we started getting involved romantically. And we had been best friends from just about the time we met.

Our only arguments were over coach-athlete types of things. She would try to coach me, I'd do my own workouts, and she'd agree that I was right. She was a distance runner and I was already one of the fastest hurdlers in San Diego when we met, so I already had a very good idea how to train for my events. After the first couple meets she started letting me coach the other sprinters and hurdlers on our team.

Of course that was also the first time she got jealous... as I was paying rather close attention to a cute girl hurdler on our team. Even though I thought she was nice, I wasn't all that attracted to the girl... but it made my coach jealous none the less.
