Your favourite dinosaur

I always like Zok and Tundro from The Herculoids. Although I'm not sure if Tundro was technically a dinosaur.

btw what do you all think of the recent trend by paleoartists of covering dinos in feathers? Some dino fans are very averse to it. I dont mind it on the smaller dinos but I dont really care for when they cover the larger massive dinos like T-rex in feathers. It just looks really odd...

The only ones they've actually found confirmed feathers on are from the raptor family. IIRC, there were thought to be feathers found on some species of ornithomimid but on closer examination they turned out to be frayed collagen fibers.

There's an idea floating around in some circles, by the way, that the raptors may not have been true dinosaurs at all but rather flightless birds--Archeopteryx predates the Cretaceous feathered raptors by a hundred or so million years, and all the raptors have a unique bone in their wrists that's used by birds to fold their wings but is thought to be useless in an arm. I've been told a little of this research has been published by now, but I never found out from the guy I spoke with when or where.

yep I heard of that though I kinda also like the theory that birds are actually dinosaurs. :) If raptors turn out to be birds than thats cool too, but I can see raptors going down the popularity list in some folk's mind. (not me though, I love birds.)

and yeah looking through google image it seems most of the feathered dinosaurs are small theropods. I think the largest is therizinosaurus. But they sometimes draw juvenile T-rexes and other larger dinos with feathers, which i guess could have been possible.

^ Let's clone some and find out! Oh wait... that wasn't real. :borg:

Mine was always Triceratops. The remind me of an elephant and I adore elephants. And speaking of "Jurassic Park", one of my favorite scenes was when they were looking at the tranquilized Triceratops out in the field. I knew it was just a pile of rubber, metal and electronics. But for a moment, especially when it raised its leg up into the air, I believed. It gave me goose flesh.

My favourite dinosaurs have to be these guys.

Honourable mention to the Terrible Thunderlizards

Carnotaurus followed by dilophosaurus(without that silly JP neck frill.)
How do you feel about dilophosaurs with feathers: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v222/JuanBolio/DilophosaurusMuseum.jpg ?

I refuse to believe that creature is Godzilla.:klingon: Godzilla stands up tall and has a kind of "guy in a rubber suit" appearance.
After he was irradiated he had to adopt an upright posture, using his tail along with his legs to form a tripod so that he could actually stand and support his own massive bulk. :)
