I will officially be a bachelor of science degree graduate of The Art Institute of California - San Francisco in approximately 19 days. September 24th is the day of my Portfolio Show, in which I will have a little booth at what can best be related to a convention. Graduating students from all degrees will present their portfolios, resumes, business cards, etc to faculty, students, alumni and most importantly, industry professionals. I'll be set up with the rest of my Graphic Design folks dressed to impressed.
5 years of education will culminated in that one day, and the book that I'll be presenting. It's pretty crazy how so much time, blood, sweat and tears can ultimately be summed up in something like a single book or a single day, but that's what will happen. That will be my last day as a student, when I'll hand over my student ID and receive my alumni ID. I still have so much to do to get there: finishing my portfolio, getting it printed, printing my business cards and resume, buying my outfit...but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel and I can almost feel the relief and accomplishment that will come with that day. And I can already see myself having a hell of a party that night.
I know this is a bit "bloggy" but I really wanted to share this with everyone. I know I tend to bitch about a lot and come off as rather negative sometimes, but this is really big to me and something I'm really happy and proud of.
I usually relegate my artwork to the Trek Art thread but I thought I'd give you guys something of a "sneak peek" at the contents of my portfolio, so below are a few of my favorite projects. (Some of the colors are super vibrant - I didn't take the time to convert the images from CMYK to RGB as these are straight out of my print file)
Antideuterium Container
Coca-Cola Handbag )Made of 100% Recycled Materials)
Royal Purple Synthetic Motor Oil
The V.E.L.V-18 Robot
