And the coolest Romulan of them all was/is....

Commander Gul Tekbak:bolian:

I think I have 3 or 4 lasting favourites. We should so have a poll about this!

Donatra/Sela/Taibak/Koval

(Taibak and Koval are played by the same actor so is that cheating?)

Nope, sorry, the coolest Romulan was and is Mark Lenard's un-named Romulan commander from the TOS episode Balance of Terror.

Oh yes, of course, he is my #1 favorite Romulan.. :adore: But he skipped my mind because, I guess, I was thinking of TNG-era Romulans as different from TOS Romulans.

The female Romulan commander from "The Enterprise Incident" was quite cool, too, even if she fell for a Federation ploy.

Oh, the unnamed Romulan played by Mark Lenard is tops, of course - the reason I haven't posted in this thread, in fact, is because I figured you only wanted to talk about DS9 Romulans. But yes, he's waaaaaay at the top of my list.

Tomalak is wonderful as well, but another one of my favorites is Admiral Mendak from TNG's "Data's Day." He only has a few minutes in screen, but that's all he needs, IMO. And he has one of the great Romulan lines, which I can't find right now, alas, and so I'll have to paraphrase. It goes something like this: "I'm not ready to start a war...today." Fabulous!

I have to admit I can't think of a Romulan that I don't like; well except for the ones in Message in a Bottle.

What was the Romulan Commander of theWarbird in The Pegasus?

Doh, I'd forgotten the Mark Lenard's commander and "The Enterprise Incident" commander for the same reason... good catches all.

And I agree with Admiral Mendak as giving a better impression with little time than Tebok.

I'd have to say my favourite Romulan is Donatra (of course the *hottness* factor plays a role in this as well)

The second one would be Tomalak, not only I like Andreas Katsulas from his Babylon 5 role, but also it was always interesting to watch stories where Tomalak has been involved in some way.

Alaimo is good in any role he plays, but I can't picture him being anything but a villain.
