IMDB Poll - Star Trek Most Deserving #1 Film in 2009

Star Trek was voted the most deserving film to open at #1 in 2009 in an IMDB user poll of 15,335 users.

It had a slight lead over "Inglourious Basterds" with 16.3% and a total of 2650 votes.

However, not sure I agree with the fairness of this poll since 2009 is far from over, but it is what it is and good to see Star Trek on top once again.

There's no accounting for taste.

I think a film's success is not measured by universal acclaim but by the ratio of people who liked it to those who disliked it. There will always be people who dislike or even hate any given movie.

If you look at any film on IMDB, even the highest rated of all time, you will see dozens of votes for 0/10 stars. Some of those voters are probably just being contrarian, but others really hated Citizen Kane.

You're in the minority on this one, but don't feel bad about disliking something that many others like. Life wouldn't be very interesting if your taste were an amen choir for pop culture.
