(Rumour)EA stopped Sony from implementing cross game chat on PS3.

This rumour has hit the net and has hit it big time, this story was posted on the N4G forums by the poster Super Secret who seems to be a Sony whistle blower on up and coming stuff, his last success was about the slim and price cut long before it was due.

The meat of the post seems to be that Sony have had cross game chat up and running now for some time as well and the much wanted custom music feature from the XMB for all games, but it seem they both caused issues with some EA games, and EA none to happy with this had threatened Sony with legal action of they allowed these two features to be used in conjunction with their products, so Sony backed off and X chat and custom tracks for all games were both put on on the back burner.

Now i have no idea if its true or not but judging by the pounding the official EA forums are taking from very unhappy PS3 owners i have no doubt there will be some type of comment from either EA, Sony or both very soon seeing as the story is spreading to the likes of Digg and the rest.

We shall wait and see.

But EA is right. (Those words don't sound right.)

Oh yeah that doesn't get in the way of the PS3 fanboys, how many are there anyways? 9?

I read SS's post in its entirety. How do we know it's EA? As far as I can tell, the only company he eliminated as the culprit was Activision, which leaves Ubisoft, Capcom, Square Enix, Konami among others.

It wouldn't surprise me if it was EA, but "a rather large company" leaves many suspects.

I don't use either feature, but I find it amusing that Sony has to kowtow to whoever it might be while MS could get away with it from day one. Oh well.

Given that even the PSP supports Skype, I can't believe it's all that difficult to implement this, so there may very well be something else going on here.

Apparently there was another post that basically said the game was some Harry Potter game.
