When I was posting the weekly report in the Rear Admirals lounge I was posting in excess of 150 to 200 posts a week or more. As you can tell I've cut back my spamming considerably.

my post count got so high from posting in the 'late night thread', fan-fic contests, avatar contests, GBOW, and posting in BWN and Badass Robau...

That average is really only being kept afloat by my more spammy early days. There was a point where I was doing 12+ posts a day, and my ultimate goal was to keep above 10 posts per day. However, I don't post as much as I did early on. I think part of it is because I haven't found as many threads that I can really get into. But another large part of it is the subscribed thread feature... I subscribe to all threads I post in, and there are some days where I only have time to catch up on my "old" threads and not have a chance to see anything new.

I used to post more, but real life has thrown quite a few curve balls my way recently. Still, I find the Lounges and TV & Media a nice way to relax and kill a little time.
I post a whole lot less than I used to. I read from time to time. I haven't been on a whole lot in the last year or so, but I might get back into it.

^Yeah, it amuses me slightly when people who joined this year post 'Welcome, n00bs!' or some variation thereof on the welcome thread. Pretty much anyone who joined post-2004 is a n00b in my book. Why 2004? That was the beginning of my spammy year and thus I recognize names from back then.
Anyway, I joined January 30th 2001 and have posted 6,403 times for an average floating just barely above 2 posts per day.

With this account, I have 6,656 posts, for an average of 2.74 a day, since December 2002. I also had another 1,500-odd posts on my original account, which was lost back in the days of the Great Crash. Oddly, I'm pretty sure I was the only person who hadn't registered in that three month window to have their account disappear... if it weren't for that, I'd be an Admiral. Curses! 
Anyway, when I'm posting regularly that number is probably higher, but I also go through stretches of lurking which probably pulls the average down.

Interesting. As of today, the majority of posters (16) mostly read threads and don't post very often, followed very closely by posters (15) who post a few times a day.
I've got 13,712 posts since I joined back in November of 2001. That means I average just under 5 posts a day.
My posting rate really fell off the map the past few years, it goes up around football season, and during other major sports events. Back in the day, I was a pretty prolific TNZ poster. Now I come to the board pretty much only for the sports. And it's way less fun now than it used to be, largely for the same reason mimic said.

A few weeks ago I found a web utility which demonstrated who had made the most posts in the last month.While we're on the subject of posting habits, whom would you nominate as "Spammer of the Week"?

^^ I saw that recently in the past couple of weeks but couldn't remember the URL when I tried to see which was the most active thread and poster on the BBS.
