Teams You Love to Hate

The Chicago Blackhawks are quickly shifting into this territory due to the presence of Marian Hossa and Patrick "Let's beat up a 62 year old man for 20 cents" Kane.

It's a shame. I kind of liked the team until now.

Just because they picked up Michael Vick?

Actually, I can understand that if it's the case.

Kentucky Wildcats.

Around here, whenever basketball season starts, everything grinds to a screeching halt. The towns are dead, and everybody is flying their UK banners.

Those don't bother me as bad as when they make it to the final four. Then, people who don't even watch UK basketball act like they've been rooting for them from the beginning. I'll see them in their UK pants, hats, shirts, fucking UK banners fluttering from their Ford Festivas.

I have to admit, I do love hating them, and the reaction I get flying a Tennessee Vols flag or shirt, just to piss them off

You know, I said that I hate any NFL team that Favre has defected to, but I really didn't acknowledge the Vikes before, why should I now?

in English football - Crystal Palace, Liverpool and Newcastle
Rest of Europe - Baraclona
and in international football the usual rivals for England of Scotland, Germany, Argentina and add Portugal

Brett Favre may be a jackass who doesn't know how to retire, but at least he hasn't tortured and killed innocent animals, so I'm inclined to ignore him.

And of course Pens fans love being hated by Flyers fans. Winning the Stanley Cup has only been slightly more satisfying than dismantling your team's squad of half-witted, incompetent goons two playoff years in a row. :p:p:p
You know, up those two series the Penguins had never beaten the Flyers in a playoff series.

It's living in State College that made me hate Pittsburgh teams. I met their fans. Ugh. Although calling some of them 'fans' is a stretch, since they can only name maybe two players on the team (Crosby and Malkin) and started following during the playoffs...and then there's Sidney Crosby. It genuinely bothered me that they just gave the captaincy to him when he was a whiner and NOT a leader. And the ESPN worship doesn't help. If they got rid of Sid the Kid and all of the bandwaggoners who pop up in State College around April I wouldn't dislike them nearly as much as I do.

Lately the Braves have been bugging me, too. For some reason I read the ESPN message boards and so many Braves fans on there are absolutely convinced that they will win the division because of their 8-4 record vs. the Phillies.

8-4 isn't spectacular. I hated Braves fans for probably about 10 years because they pretty much had an entitlement complex with regards to the NL East. Their hate of the Phillies because they got usurped from their throne is a bit ridiculous (and it couldn't have been the same division because Phillies were in the NL East basement with the Expos for most of it).

He's mentally tortured plenty of Packers fans, though. I've always hated the Vikes, but I have some pity for their fans now.

Yeah, but they're the two series that count right now. :nyah:

Seriously, though, and as I live in Nova Scotia, I saw this very quietly: I agree with you about Crosby. He's turned out better than I expected, personality-wise, but I'm not a fan of people who have official biographies before they even enter the NHL. TSN replicates ESPN's Sid-worship, too. Give me Malkin any day, or better still, Ovechkin.
