The Final Ongoing Star Trek Box Office Thread

Jesus, still with this crap? Paramount is happy with its foreign receipts, I think its about time you stopped complaining.
This, from the person who for weeks was moaning "Those are terrible numbers! It's a flop! It's a failure! There'll never be another Star Trek movie, ever again!" in box-office thread after box-office thread after box-office thread? You, of all people, ought to be cutting him some slack, so lighten up.

I read Paramount thinks GI Joe could make it to 300 Mil. I don't see that happening at all considering the horrible WOM and fast dropping BO receipts.

It's hard to tell at this point. The international number listed on BOM ($89M), hasn't been updated since August 9th. The film could have made a decent chunk of change since then.

EDIT: Or maybe not. UIP puts G.I. Joe's international take at a little over $94 million. :D

$49,559 for Monday. That's down 27.5% from last Monday, and the per screen average was $164. Still doing pretty well considering everything, but it's pretty much just going to be chump change from here on out.

Domestic total: $255,985,786. It'll definitely cross $256 million today.

SWEET!

[Darth Vader] This will be a theatrical run LONG remembered...[/Vader]

The movie underperformed to what I thought it should do for a few weeks but I don't recall ever saying it was a flop or A failure or that there would not be a sequel. And either way, I changed my tune pretty fast after week 3 or so when it was obvious the movie had hardcore legs.

^Yeah, you were just slightly pessimistic for a while. It was another dude who kept saying the movie is a flop (I am not going to name any names but his handle was the bucket of that shape-shifter on DS9 ;) ).

Star Trek earned $52,427 on Tuesday (8/18), crossing the $256 million mark. It was a very small uptick from Monday.

Domestic Total: $256,038,213
International Total: $126,382,684

Worldwide Total: $382,420,897

Party Hearty! Well, okay, maybe not hearty.

Dunno if 257 is doable; theater counts are going to drop further.

At this point in its run, Iron Man made $1.8 million more before leaving theaters. If Trek continues running around 25% behind Iron Man, it could pull out another $1.3 million. This would assume Trek continues performing at the same pace and that it stays in theaters as long as Iron Man, which didn't close its run until the beginning of October.

I would figure it will not stay in as long as Iron Man so I think we could extrapolate a $1-1.2 Million future for the film. 257.2 seems like our high mark. $384 Worldwide seems about right as well.

$45,549 for Wednesday the 19th. Down 13.1% from Tuesday and 34.5% from last Wednesday. Per screen average was $150.

Domestic total is $256,083,762. Also, BOM updated Star Trek's international figures; the increase wasn't much but hey, every extra little bit is still nice. So, the foreign total for the film is $126,385,382.

Worldwide total: 382,469,144.

ETA - Star Trek will be losing another 32 theatres (10.6%) this weekend, giving it a total of 271 locations. Not too bad... pretty much what one would expect at this point, anyway.

Well based on what the per screen take is, no wonder the count continues to slip.

I just can't see 257 at this clip, though.

No matter--the film is still playing at my local IMAX and doing quite well against Transformers II.

When some personal dust settles here, and if it is still playing next week, I might just go... one last last last last time.

:)

For the record how many times have you seen it at the IMAX?

Four-five times at the local one; once in The City... :)

Four-Five as in Fourty Five or Four or Five?

257 Is most certainly going to happen, but its going to take a while.

Much as I love Trek, 45 would've been insanity (apologies to the insane)...

I believe it was 5 times. If it is still there next week, it'll be 6.

$50,081 (a nice 9.9% increase from Wednesday - the biggest increase in the Top 25, and down 30% from last Thursday), bringing the total to $256,133,843.

It might pick up $220K this weekend.
