Entertainment Weekly has Uhura's earings the film listed on page 23 of the June 11 issue of EW.
Lucite "pod" earrings that Zoe Saldana wore came from Alexis Bittar.
for about $90.

^^^Well, in the last month or so, I've spent approximately $60 on action figures, and about $80-90 on multiple movie viewings. So what's $85 for a pair of fab earrings?

Full Disclosure: In my family I am known as the earring Diva- I must have 50 or more pairs. So I don't exactly need an excuse to spend money on jewelry. The real question is whether I will spend $200-$400 for these:

Why is there no photo on the kiki site the EW article links to? How do we know those are the right ones? "Small Dewdrop Earrings" are not listed if you look up the Alexis Bittar jewellery.

Also, what are they made of?

I'm not completely convinced that these are the earrings. The ones from the vendor website appear to be curved, while the movie pair looked more like, I'm not sure of the best word, but "linear"is as good as I can think of. Also the site describes them as painted Lucite. While Alexis Bittar does have a few pieces that sound a bit similar, in most of his work, the lucite looks like the color is a result of being part of the lucite, not painted on. And Uhura's look like you can see light being reflected off/through the material- almost like a moonstone. Or clear/stained lucite. And they aren't listed at the AB site at all.

I could be wrong, but the pair at the Kiki site don't appear to be the ones.

Off topic, but Uhura was terrific and terrifically played in this film.

They're made of Lucite, which is a plastic, iinm, sort of like Perspex/Plexiglas. (Yep, see here -- it's an acrylic.)

The images which had been there when the links were posted are not appearing now. Removed due to being hotlinked several thousand times might be one reason.

I know! I don't even want to add how much I've spent on "junk" this last month..! But I'll never spend that kind of money on earrings...I just don't value them and jewlery in general that much...I'd rather waste it on other things LOL....and boy...waste I do...I need to STOP!

Yeah they look like the ring on condoms. Minus the inside part. But they always looked like Condoms. I remember seeing it when i was a kid and thinking "Wow, Uhura is one Liberated Woman...She even carries her own protection with her..."
Am I the only one who thought the Uhuras TOS Earings looked like condoms?

I found another link to the earrings here. Only these are on a sterling silver wire instead of gold like Uhura's.
