Reno 911 Canceled

Too bad. I just spent the better part of last weekend rewatching The State. Lennon's a really talented and funny dude and his work got better over the years.

Having caught a few episodes of the new season, the show was getting painfully bad. The new cast obviously weren't fleshed out (I'm guessing the two cast member leaving were short notice, and they creators thought they'd be able to stop them before they were gone).

The last funny thing on the show, oddly enough, was Dangle yelling, "Tacos! Tacos! Tacos!!!" in the last season finale. :D

Who knew tacos would be the show's demise.

Yeah, I couldn't get into the new characters at all. I assume that the the characters who left "died" in the parade-float accident at the end of the previous season.

Clementine, Garcia and Kimball were all missed characters for me.

I mean, how do you have this show where your "babe factor" is Wiegel? :wtf:

It wasn't the same with out my favorite Mexican.:(
THANK GOD!

It needed too end, it felt like the show was on forever.
Sad to say it should have ended with season 5.

It is a worn out premise, but I did enjoy the first few seasons a lot. And the movie was pretty funny as well.

The sad thing is, the show could have kept going. It's main problems were:

-- Pushing the racist jokes nad forcing racist tention.

-- Focusing on Trudy way, way, way too much.

-- No change or evolution; everybody basically stayed the same and there were no changes in rank, duty, or evolution in characters.

That sucks. Aside from Daily/Colbert and South Park it was the only show on Comedy Central with any longevity. It sure wasn't high art but it was worth a laugh or two. Reno holds a very tiny special place in my heart. Given that I've read it's one of their highest rated shows, I wonder if the real reason isn't the amazing success of Thomas Lennon and Ben Garant (Night at the Museum anyone?), not to mention Lennon's growing acting career.

Nooooo....hadn't watched it in years, actually.

It had it moments, but lost me at some point. Maybe too stagnant, or maybe the cops realized they weren't good cops or something.

I haven't watched in years, so I'm not shedding tears. It was entertaining back when I first watched it, but I think it went a bit down hill. It had a decent run, though. Not many Comedy Central original programs are good enough to both not suck and last a long time.
