Sorry, but the NuEnt Engineering Hull is Phail

I think JJ's Enterprise is beautiful, a trekkies dream; except for that sliced out engineering section. You could have packed so much more cool stuff in there: bowling allies, motocross arenas, handball courts, for gods sake!

Did JJ think that was too much space already in the Ent?

Starship design has come along way since 1964, the NuEnt is great except for that inverted bunny hill underneath.

It may look sleeker somehow, but 5 years out there on the frontier don't you need some space for storage?

I RELLY could not agree more! the ship would be prefect to me, If it wasn't for that LOOOOOOOOOONNNGGGGG fantail look!:wtf:

I don't mind that- I just think now that the primary hull is a *little* too far back. Kinda looks strange from an overhead/rear 3/4 view.
But, I'm nit-pickin'.

The saucer and Nacelles on the JJ-prise kick ass but that secondary hull and plyons....ick.

Oh, I like the pylons; they're nicely like the ones on the TOS ship but a little stronger-looking.

I think they attach too far forward on the engines, though.

It's a horrible design. The neck is too far back and basically starts at the back of the ship, the nacelles are comically bulbous, the hull looks like a half-eaten cake, the warp pylons are bent and look like they could buckle at any moment... the only decent bit is the saucer.

I really like the saucer, the neck, the deflector, the nacelles, and the pylons, but I think they blew it on the secondary hull. It's a little too narrow, and way too tapered at the back end. It looks out of proportion with the giant saucer section.

And the secondary hull and pylons are fine, as far as I'm concerned. :techman: (Or should that be 'phine'?)
Actually, I always thought the nacelles of TOS E were just *slightly* long, something they fixed in both the Refit & the NuE.
See, I can find fault with ANY design!:guffaw:
Eh, I probably could, too, if I worked at it, but I really can't be bothered. It took me all of about a minute and a half, looking at that first image, to decide I liked the ship, and since then I've been given no compelling reason to change that opinion; I think it's a beautiful design.
