OK...we've agreed on this great topic idea that PSGarak suggested--the irony was just too great to pass up!

Any series/any time period, your character or characters have discovered they have a double. (It doesn't have to be an AU version of them, although it could be. It could just be someone who looks and sounds a great deal like them.) And it causes an issue. Could be funny, serious, whatever. It's up to them.

ENTRIES DUE: 31 August, 12:00 CDT

Just a minor correction from my inner geek..."There Can Be Only One!"

*runs off to pull out an old copy of Highlander*

Oh, and word limit 3500. In our mad dash of collaboration, we left out that little detail.

Mmh, the theme is certainly intriguing but the challenge is quite specific. I guess I'll be sitting this one out.

Heheheheheheh. Heh.

I've got an idea.

Oh, yeah.
Strauss looked across at Akinola, her expression pinched as she delivered the unwelcome revelation. "Sir, it appears your double in this universe... is... is a cabaret Flamenco dancer who goes by the name 'Josephine Ak-Ak.' When not performing in drag, he spends his time carving puppies from bars of soap."

She then shot Solly a scathing frown as the burly Orion erupted in laughter.

:guffaw::guffaw::guffaw:

Pava, meet Pava...

On another note, since I have not enough time on my hands to write three Trek series and a novel, I will be using the Stonehouse ship and characters for the monthly challenges.

Damn and blast! Who leaked my *@#%! story idea?!? :scream:

This one is old, and I don't know if it qualifies, but...

Auberjonois
by Rob Morris

Though quite ancient and quite sickly, the prisoner's petition for parole had been denied once again.

It now fell to Constable Odo to transport this man back to the penal colony that was his longtime home.

"I am a Patriot. What I did I did for the Federation. The Klingons have proven that they cannot be trusted!"

Odo disagreed.

"You nearly started the final war. You tried to kill The Federation President, and make it look like a Klingon did it."

The man shouted again.

"I am a hero!"

Odo shook his head.

"Just sit down and relax, Colonel West."

Well its not my challenge, but I'd count it. One of the things I like to do is think about how two characters by the same actor might react when meeting each other. Although I'd say you might want to expand on it, if you did I'd certainly read it.

That was written as a drabble. An expansion might have to also address how West survived his fall in ST6.

Here's another, more in tune with the clash aspect :

Hertzler

Martok listened to the distant transmission. "So, Chancellor. Janeway and her crew have yet to arrive?"

Martok nodded at the Hirogen.

"But they are expected. With one of our own people on board, the Empire is also interested in Voyager's fate. Keep this Comm-Code, and I shall inform you of The Borg's fate, as well."

Then, a Vulcan Starfleet Captain entered.

"Chancellor, I am to ferry the Changeling prisoners."

"Captain, do I know you?"

"We have a mutual acquaintance. I commanded The Saratoga. Sisko was my XO."

Martok smiled and activated a force-field.

"Security! I have captured the renegade Changeling, Laas."

One entry per person.

And let me go ahead and say this ahead of the voting thread.

I will be setting up the poll so it is public. And anyone who votes for themselves WILL have their votes thrown out. Period.

I, on the other hand, will give you a point for being extra Machiavellian if you vote for yourself. It may not get counted in Nerys' poll, but it's a very Cardassian thing to do.

I think that the Cardassian thing to do would be to trick others into voting for you without any evidence of your interference.

Besides, voting for oneself seems like a very Dukatist thing to do.:p
