A Cartoon Network representative confirmed to World's Finest that the second season episode "Chill of the Night!" (written by Paul Dini) will feature Kevin Conroy as The Phantom Stranger, Mark Hamill as The Spectre, Adam West as Thomas Wayne, and Julie Newmar as Martha Wayne.

Meanwhile, it was revealed at Comic-Con that characters who'll make appearances in upcoming episodes include B'wanna Beast, Captain Marvel and the Marvel Family, Detective Chimp, the Doom Patrol, Enemy Ace, Firestorm, the Haunted Tank, Metal Men, Vixen, Viking Prince, and Starro. Superman and Wonder Woman are said to be possibilities for the future.

Geeking out insanely at this one, and next month, the B&B Batmobile hits shelves!

I read that the Thomas & Martha Wayne episode is based on the Silver Age comics story revealing that
Thomas had once worn an early version of the Batman costume that had inspired Bruce.

The one character I most want to see on this show is... Bruce Wayne. Even in the Silver Age, he wasn't Batman all the time.

Now, if Cartoon Network would actually put the HD versions of the show back on their HD channel instead of sending us up-rezzed copies.

Dini? This episode is already guaranteed to be a fan favorite. :techman:

will feature Kevin Conroy as The Phantom Stranger

Conroy, sweet! The Phantom Stranger voiced by a former Batman, just like in TAS. And they picked the perfect one, too.

Mark Hamill as The Spectre, Adam West as Thomas Wayne, and Julie Newmar as Martha Wayne.

So many classic Batman alums. Very cool.

Captain Marvel? That's going to be awesome. Though I don't care too much for the rest of the Marvel Family.

Superman and Wonder Woman are said to be possibilities for the future.

Well, "possibilities" is better than nothing.

The Phantom Stranger never appeared in B:TAS, or in any animated production before this one. Are you thinking of the Gray Ghost?

Conroy also played Dick Grayson's father in The Batman, opposite Mark Hamill as Tony Zucco, murderer of Dick's parents. Adam West had a recurring role in that series as the mayor of Gotham.

Julie Newmar doing animation voice work is apparently a first, though -- which is a shame, considering that distinctive voice of hers.

Superman, Wonder Woman or Green Lantern should star in a new animated show after B & B runs its course.
I think there's a strong chance a Green Lantern animated series will be next. A superhero getting a live action feature film often leads to an animated series, too.
I pledge to watch the unannounced and animated Green Lantern show, even if they turn Hal Jordan into a teenager. :wtf:

I wouldn't be surprised to see Superman; the red tape surrounding Wonder Woman is, even if not, as many theorize, mandated by the conditions of ownership, is virtually impenetrable (it's kept her out of Batman Beyond, Static Shock, The Batman, and thus far Batman: Brave and the Bold).

The animated Wonder Woman DVD starring Keri Russell makes up for WW's absence in all the other series.

As I understand it, the licensing rules surrounding Wonder Woman forbid her from appearing in any production where she isn't a lead character. She was in JL/U because she was one of the regulars in an ensemble cast, thus qualifying as a lead role. But she hasn't been allowed to appear in anything where she'd be just a guest star in someone else's show.

Which is an unfortunate and ridiculous restriction, since it really limits the opportunities to raise the character's profile.

She was in JL and JLU. ^^ There's hope.
She was a lead there; guest appearances aren't allowed. Hence, all those series that she didn't appear in, even though they wanted her to (in the Batman Beyond JLA episode, they had to replace her with Big Barda; she was the only member of the original JLU lineup not to appear on Static Shock, etc.).
