Dôh. I should really learn to pay attention.
Still, one in four TrekBBSers is a virgin. I figured most of us had gotten old enough to be having sex regularly, but we seem to have quite a few here, for various reasons.

No im not. But sometimes I wish I still were. Life was easier back than. I had dreams of the future and whatnot. Once you start having sex and a GF things just get less interesting. Not as much to look forward to I suppose. I think Im just getting old.
With all due respect, i think you are doing something wrong. Very wrong.
No you guys got it all wrong. The relations are great. We have been together for 9 years. Im talking about life in general. After you have sex theres nothing big to look forward to. I am mostly only joking. I really think it has to do with age creeping up on me. I just turned 39, cant find work with my degree and nothing interests me as much as it used to. I have experienced probably the best things life has to offer at this point. Life just seems to be getting a little boring. Its not my GF's fault. I was just using the point you have a solid relationship and the fact that your not a virgin anymore as the beginning of the end of interesting stuff. Thats all.
There are so many more interesting things than sex and jobs out there. You're too young to be bored of life at 39! 
Go to the airport, hop on a random plane, and start a new life wherever you end up.
Nice idea but I cant leave my GF and (no one chastise me for this) I cant leave my parents, They are getting up there and I would never forgive myself if the last time I see them is boarding a plane to god knows where. I usually visit them once a week. I figure that I can pretty much do anything here than I can elsewhere. Well maybe not everything. I just have to find a way to reinvigorate myself. I have been in this slump for about 3 years now.

All that talk about not needing to be popular, not needing any regular friends, not needing to hang out with girls, not needing to look good and fashionable... And look where they are now.

If there's someone in particular you're trying to get with that works. My issue is more that I'm too quick to shove women into the friend category, usually before I've even figured out whether that's where I want them or not.

If you wait too long, she might think she's not desired overly much. A lot of women get off on being furiously pursued, it's deeply flattering. Think about it. If you don't find yourself wanting to chase her tail off from day one, it's probably doomed from the start. 
The problem is that I never get attracted to a girl until AFTER I've gotten to know her and developed a friendship.

Emher, as far as I understand it, wants to "get laid" to start with, and that is totally different from finding "the one", like you and Lindley want. The "formula" would need to be far more sensible and sincere than the one I proposed earlier.
