Tattoos-do you have any?

I do, and I am quite fond of them:

I would like to tie the two together into a sort of 1/4 sleeve (though not completely filled in) using an image from a bubble chamber. I want vibrant color, and am considering a bright teal blue and brown. After that I don't think I'll get any more. The two I have match in style (both are my design and were worked by the same artist), but I still want to do more to form one coherent piece. I don't want to end up with disparate stamps in various spots on my body.

I have three, they aren't very big and they're on different parts of my body, so much so that it's difficult to catch them all at just one glance. One on the right lower side of my belly, one inside my right arm, just below my armpit, and one in the center of my back, between my shoulder blades. They all mark a particular moment of my life, a passage so to speak, so I am very fond of them. The last one I got is to me the most important of them all.

Maybe I'll have some more work done in the future, maybe not. Right now I have nothing planned.

Wow that's the worst pot leaf I've ever seen.

Wait that's actually supposed to be a pot leaf? I was joking thinking it was some kind of poorly done clover or some shit. I hope you punched whoever did that to you right in the balls.

Is supposed to be this:

A silver oak leaf, the insignia for the naval rank Commander. The shittiness of it is more my inability to draw than the artists fault.

I have one... pretty simple, though I took a few months planning out the design and another finding an artist I trusted to do the work. Obviously it wasn't a spur of the moment type of thing.

I don't have any tattoo's. I always worry that they won't age well.
Check out this site for some laughs though: http://ugliesttattoos.com/
Look up the picture of Takei with the guy with the Star Trek tattoo. Really... :cardie:

I want to be there when that Skinhead guy wakes up one morning and realizes his life has taken a wrong turn and that he wants to change... and then he looks in the mirror and goes, "oh, yeah."

That is just tragic, it should be illegal to tattoo a person's face without asking questions. It seems to me they should check for mental health issues and substance abuse before going ahead.

I thought of getting a tattoo, but I could never settle on a design I liked.

Now, the moment has pretty much passed.

None for me. I can't think of anything that I would want on my body permanently. I think it can be beautiful as a piece of art, it's just really not for me.

I have two. One is a craptastic Celtic knot thing that I got on my ankle as a whim in college. The artist couldn't go very deep as I have very bony ankles, so it lost most of it outlining. It just needs to be covered, or kept as a lesson to not get a tattoo on a fucking whim.

The other one is a fire drake on my right shoulderblade, taken from The Visual Guide to Xanth, which I like very much. It's hitting the 15 year mark though and could really use a touch-up.

I have a coupe of other designs I've done over the years, but it's always a question of having the spare cash and finding the right artist and really committing to the design. One of th ones I want is a tribute to Hunter Thompson, and I'm thinking about trying to get it done for the 5th anniversary of his death next February.

I have a tattoo of my wife's nickname on my right forearm. Thought about getting another, but money's tight right now. Someday.

Q2

Yup, with a few more on the way. All personal designs but with the artist's touch.

The next 3 going on are to cover scars up.

As for getting old and the tattoos not looking their greatest as you age..you know what? At 80 years old, I'm sure I'll have more important things to worry about, like beating the lines at the early bird special and how to cheat at shuffleboard than cry about my wrinkly skin.

I have a small tattoo (a bird) on my left ankle. I don't regret it, but had I not been so drunk at the time (I was in New Orleans), I probably would have gotten something else. I'm thinking about getting another small tat.

I find tattoos to be rather stupid and short-sighted personally... one need only see an older person who got them in their youth to observe the obvious problem. That said, if people want to deface their own bodies, they should and do have the freedom to do so.

Isn't it lovely when people hide the contempt under the guise of tolerance and respect?

thestrangequark, I'm not sure if I mentioned before, but your tattoos are lovely!
