Catchy incidental music

Holdfast

Weird topic, but I hate it when there's a really catchy bit of incidental music and you wish it was a full song, but know that it isn't.

I was reminded of this on watching Ferris Bueller for about the zillionth time this evening, and the bit when Cameron says he'll "take the heat" for wrecking the Ferrari (you know the bit I mean) has the most awesomely kitschy 80s inspirational music. It's from about 1:23:18 if you have the DVD. Every time I watch the movie, I wish that music was a proper full-length song but I know it almost certainly isn't (unless someone here knows better???)

Anyone else have a few bars of incidental music from a movie or TV show that just stick in your mind and don't let go?

This is a piece of music I discovered a while ago as it was used as a jingle on a talkshow on TV:

Steve Martland - Dancework - Dance II (.mp3, 660Kb, <30 sec to avoid copyright issues).

And while there's a cd with that piece on there, it's a small, catchy piece which then quickly degenerates into a chaotic assembly of generic jazz noises. So sad.

There's also a tune under a Grolsch commercial that's eerily catchy. Basically just a double bass, not much more. However, it was custom produced and the commercial itself is nowhere to be found... Similar ones, yes, but that one, no. I do have a recorded sample somewhere.

If I had access to a small enough device that could play music loud enough, anytime I change locations, I'd play the Seinfeld music. From the first moment I heard it, I found it extremely catchy.

I wish I had a soundtrack playing along to my life, full of incidental musical cues.

If nothing else, it would stop me humming...

^That would be awesome. Especially if the soundtrack consisted of incidental music from TOS.

"Honey--we have to talk."

DA-da-dum...daaa-daaa...dum-dum...

To Ganymeade and Titan,
Yes sir i've been around,
But there ain't no place...
in the whole of space,
Like that good old toddlin' town.

Lunar City Seven...

One standup comedian once did an entire routine based on the incidental music from Gilligan's Island. Also, the Addams Family was loaded with it.

Just to say that thanks to the generosity of a member here who got me in touch with someone who knows, that particular cue only exists in the form heard in the movie... still a great little piece of music and I'm glad to now have it.

In the vein of Turd Ferguson's desire for a loud enough portable device, I wish I could play it in real life every time I make any decision. :D
