*Possible* Spoilers For 5.1 +5.2

OK, let's be clear up front, take the following with not a pinch of salt but several bucketloads and when it turns out to be total crap in eight months or so feel free to drag this thread back up and make fun of me.

Right now that's out of the way here we go...

5.1 Having nearly been destroyed at the end of Tennant's last episode, the TARDIS and the newly regenerated Doctor crashland in a small Scottish village where they both start to recuperate. Unfortunately their arrival also causes a handful of Sea Devils to be woken from a hibernating colony hidden offshore.

5.2 The Doctor and Amy set off in the newly "regenerated" TARDIS unaware that the Ship's rejuvination has set free a vicious race of creatures that the Doctor had trapped in there centuries before. (The creatures look like a weird tiger/monkey combination with TARDIS roundels imprinted on their skin.) What follows is basically "Aliens" in a TARDIS, with no guest cast appearing.

Remember believe any or all of the above at your own risk.

EDIT: Sorry, a bit of provenance for the above. in the past five years I've heard first-hand two spoilers that turned out to be correct; Catherine Tate's appearance at the very end of S2 and that the end of S4 would see the Doctor and all his companions flying the TARDIS together. The above comes from the same source.

I'd take the second one with more salt than the first one. (ISTR hearing somewhere that there would be no new rooms in the TARDIS, and such a story would require them - though that's negated if they pull an Invasion Of Time and use locations to stand in for areas with a different "desktop theme")

I'd take the doctor recuperating in a Scottish village over a London-centric recuperation episode any day of the week

"She's a scottish girl working at a Tesco yeah that makes sense!"

It's funny that I left the UK when I was two but know some of the shops names lol.

where did you hear these?

I told you at the end of the post where I heard them. I certainly can't be more specific than that.

As I said, making no claims to their accuracy. If they are right you heard it here first. If they're wrong I'm the one who comes out looking like a fool.

Well the first one sounds more likely than the second. 2nd ep in sounds a little early to be doing a bottle episode...

Sea Devils would be cool though!

A lot of people, myself included, would love to see an episode spent exploring the TARDIS. Plus it would be an excellent way to put the focus on learning more about our new Doctor and the new Companion.

The Sea Devils-as well as the Silurians-were one of the monsters that RTD wanted to bring back at some point, apparentally. It'd be interesting to see them with modern technology and a decent budget, especially after the dissiapointing "Warriors of the Deep". They have made a few interesting appearences in audios, novels and comics since, though.

Plus, there's an interesting philosophical topic that can be explored, as they are largely different from other WHO monsters. The Doctor has always tried to make humans and the Silurians/Sea Devils share the Earth with humans (They are Earth's original intelligent lifeforms according to WHO), but it's never worked due to agression on both sides.

Maybe this time we'll get a decent CGI Myrka, too...

I would LOVE to see the sea devils return. Are you sure that you have the episode numbers correct though? Moffat and others on the production team (As well as general rumour) have strongly hinted that Smiths first two episodes are going to be a double bill featuring the Daleks....

could they include a Stringray like submarine? maybe a UNIT vessel?

Minimal UNIT involvement would work well for me, their appearances on Who never fail to be corny and slightly reminiscent of Gerry Anderson 'militaries' when the phrase 'Code Red, Absolute Emergency' was still considered cool sounding.

I'm definitely one of those people. I've been dying for a TARDIS-centric story.

The only person claiming that was Eddie of Outpost Skaro, who's been exposed as a liar more times than I can count. (Last week he was claiming to have exclusive photos of Matt Smith beyond what everyone else would get this week, needless to say they never appeared.)

The TARDIS ep sounds like fanwank. It'd be nice to see more of it, but it's unlikely they'd spend the money unless they could do it on the cheap/locations as before/reuse console room set etc.

The Scottish villiage idea sounds nice... I'm hoping we get that but... I'll wait and see.

Damnit, I wanted to see Ten vs. the Sea Devils! Oh, well, it still sounds like it'd be a good episode. And as much as I'd like to see the second episode, I'm gonna have to take it with a lot of salt.

Exploring the interior of the TARDIS, complete with rearranging rooms and corridors, mind-bogglingly vast chambers and strange, alien devices? Will do. :techman: It shouldn't be too expensive to do with modern technology.
