^In fairness me I killed my own people to defeat the Daleks probably doesn't have much in the way of high ground on this!

To a point... On the other hand, the Doctor would not be wrong to note that had he not blown up Gallifrey to destroy the Daleks, it seems (based on dialogue from "The Sound of Drums") that the Daleks would likely have exterminated the Time Lords and gained access to Time Lord technology.
And had Jack not sacrificed his grandson the 456 would have either taken millions upon millions of children, or wiped out the planet. OK it doesn't equal the Dalek's getting Time Lord tech, but it's a pretty damn big thing.

That, and Stephen wasn't going to die anyway, whereas the Time Lords were.

Well he might have if they'd have decided to wipe out the planet...

The only difference between what Jack did and the Doctor did is scale really. also Jack didn't have to kill every human to defeat the 456...

I mean, scale does matter. Genocide and mass murder are generally considered worse than individual murder.

Of course, the other difference is that Stephen wasn't necessarily doomed, whereas the Time Lords almost certainly were...

Even if they'd got 10% of Britain's children, what about all the other countries around the rest of the world?

What would Australia & New Zealand's reaction be to having their kids taken in the middle of the night?

China? America?

For a worldwide disaster, RTD did seem to forget that it was supposed to BE a worldwide situation and not just Britain.

Not realy, it was clearly stated that every other country was doing what the UK was doing (although God knows what places like N Korea or Somalia were doing, or if they'd even listen) It's a British show and they showed us the situation from a British perspective. If you wanted them to waste time showing Chinese soldiers grabbing up kids, then American soldiers, then French, then south African....get's a bit repetetive doesn't it.

Actually its usually the other way around. One murder will send a community into a panic, they will stay indoors, they will worry about who is sat on the bus next to them.

Wipe out a few thousand and its just a statistic, a bit sad but life goes on.

Doctor Who pretty much proves it. We are all depressed and affected by the death of Jacks Grandson, but how many of us are honestly bothered by the loss of Gallifrey and the Time-lords? Sure we feel bad for the Doctor and the handful of Time-lords we met through the years, but what about the rest of the population?

Children of Earth proved that Torchwood can be brilliant. If there is no season 4 i will be deeply disappointed.

okies. 10 percent of the children living in Vatican City? Okay I assume that there are a number of people living there who are not completely partof the priesthood who CAN have children publically, like the plumbers and the people who work in McDonalds... ? Is there a McDonalds in Vatican City? But anyway, so yes, other than the children locked in sex dungeons under the pope palace there might be actual children with parents But: the population of children would be so tiny that it would be a "miracle" if it could be hidden

Um? International waters?

Kids in transit between countries?

OMG Just asked my mum what she thought of torchwood and her words where...i thought the ending was a bit NAF.:wtf:
