James Marsters to play Buzz Aldrin

I just hope they do it better than the original... This time they know to fix the shadows, flapping flag and backlighting. Then all the moon landing hoax folks will be satisfied that it really happened.

So wait, the Brits are doing a moon landing movie for the 40th anniversary and so far all the US has is jack crap?

No, we have George crap. I think jack is Australian or something.

Seriously, in America there is little respect beyond the fanboy types for the inroads we made in space. Most of the people I talk to who are "ordinary", ie: non-fans, have little idea what From The Earth To the Moon even is-and some of the most popular names in American cinema are behind it! As for the actual events, I can't remember how many times I've read "and when we landed on the Moon in '69 America yawned." or words to that effect. We Americans are so oblivious and we have no appreciation for our own heroes-we'd rather watch the newest episode of American Idol. Frankly, I would be surprised if any major effort was made in America to commemorate the 1st Moon Landing.

ITV finally have an airdate listed for Moonshot. Monday 20th at 10:50pm

Cast

I don't understand why they're showing it so late, but who can fathom ITV.

yes that was later than I expected, was actually looking at a Sunday night slot for the show, but I guess that was not to be.

It's a good thing Fox isn't making this movie, otherwise Buzz Aldrin would be killed 10 minutes into the movie so that Neil Armstrong (played by Hugh Jackman) will be the only one to walk on the moon.

Apparently it's airing on History Channel in the US on the 20th too.

That would require the channel that aired that damned so-called "documentary" with Mitch Pileggi to acknowledge that anybody walked on the Moon.

These are big names?
Well Andrew Lincoln has been the star of 2 shows. Anna Maxwell Martin has been in a few movies, and I think all of them have been in plenty of UK shows. But I can't say beyond James Marsters and the those 2 I've heard of any of them without looking them up on imdb.

I thought this was silly, until I Googled images of a younger Buzz and MAsters for comparrison. Aside fro mthe toned cheek bone structure, given proper make up people, I think he could pull it off.

Well that's nice. I like Marsters and he doesn't get into enough interesting stuff. Other astronaut candidates: Neal McDonough and Ryan McPartlin.

They should take my suggestions. They're bigg-ish names anyway. ;)

They probably tried for bigger names but didn't have the $$$ to pull it off.
