Supernatural news

They're pussifying Satan? :wtf:

Nah, here's what they should do. Casting call: Satan. Ultimate incarnation of Evil. Deal with it.

And cast Ray Wise. Done and done.

The best Satan there ever was, and the best scene in a movie ever, is Pacino in The Devil's Advocate. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gdam7qQMkzs&feature=related but since there isn't a snowball's chance in hell of that happening I say forget the age they have there and cast John Glover. Anyways.. John Milton didn't openly slaughter people he knew the weakneses and exploited them to bring out their evil... True evil is like that... far more impressive to bring out the evil in someone else that to be be a fire and brimstone evil with no imagination.. I mean the most evil people in the history of the world were all charismatic leaders who got people to willingly help them do their evil day after day.. A devil like that, that plays on your vanities and weaknesses, is far more scary than one who just has an uncontrollable blood lust...

John Milton: Let me give you a little inside information about God. God likes to watch. He's a prankster. Think about it. He gives man instincts. He gives you this extraordinary gift, and then what does He do, I swear for His own amusement, his own private, cosmic gag reel, He sets the rules in opposition. It's the goof of all time. Look but don't touch. Touch, but don't taste. Taste, don't swallow. Ahaha. And while you're jumpin' from one foot to the next, what is he doing? He's laughin' His sick, fuckin' ass off! He's a tight-ass! He's a SADIST! He's an absentee landlord! Worship that? NEVER!

They're going more for the charismatic, win-you-over-due-to-the-feelings-God-gave-you take on Satan. Not a hand-wringing, moustache-twirling villain. He'll talk you into doing great evils while making you think it was your idea.

the shorter version of my post above.. lol :guffaw:

Yes, but now he's incarnate in the world. I can't wait to see who they cast. I'm sure the CW wanted a Robert Pattinson girly girl twilight type, but I'm sure Kripke will get his way with the 30ish-40ish man.

Supernatural casts its Lucifer.

BuddyTV reports that Mark Pellegrino has been cast as Supernatural's Lucifer. Pellegrino portrayed Jacob on Lost and Rita's villainous ex-husband, Paul, on Dexter. I don't watch Lost, but I understand he was excellent in the part.

oh cool, Marks sure been getting around lately. I can totally see him as Lucifer. I'm sure he'll do great, especially playing opposite of Jared and Jensen. From what little we saw of Jacob, in the finale, i thought he did really good.

The only role I recall ever seeing Mark Pellegrino in was Jacob, and while it was only one episode, I can definitely see why they chose him for Lucifer. Very soft-spoken, but an intensely commanding presence at the same time. He's even got the trademark fair hair Lucifer's typically said to have. Good choice. :techman:

I loved him as Paul on "Dexter." I've never seen him on Lost, but I understand he had quite a presence. I can definitely see him interacting with Jensen and Jared in a powerful way. From Lost to Dexter to Supernatural--I like that our little show can snare quality actors from other great quality shows.

TV Guide's reporting that the part of Meg has been cast with Rachel Miner. For those unfamiliar with her, she plays the S&M freak girl on Californication on Showtime. Definitely not from the CW stable of southern California pretty 20 somethings. Kripke may have hit a home run here. It's promising.

Rachel Miner

If any of you have seen Californication, you know what I'm talking about. The girl's crazy. She can definitely project that freak vibe. We don't have a Gossip Girl wannabe cast as Meg. This is great news.

Here's a clip of Rachel in Californication. She's only in it for about ten seconds as Hank's buddy introduces her to Hank. It's right after he's spanked her in his office for not being a good secretary. Watch it and you'll know this girl has the presence to be a very effective and believably wicked Meg. I'm so pleased that Supernatural can get talented actors like this.

Californication

Good news that was hinted at is confirmed.

Ellen lives

Ellen is returning, according to Ms. Samantha Ferris herself. Excellent. Ellen and Meg were the two most successful female characters, IMO.

And the casting call for episode 3

Raphael

The first and third characters possibly recurring. The first--Rapheal.....gee, what kind of cosmic entity do I know with a name like Raphael?

How interesting. Sam spilling his guts about his "heinous crimes" should be unsettling to some of the fandom. Do we get our confirmation that he murdered the possessed nurse? Go there, Supernatural. Go there. Technically, it was no different that killing a possessed person with the knife. Technically, it isn't. But the demon went to sleep--and Sam drained her blood while she screamed. He thought he was stopping armageddon, but he was wrong. Dead wrong.

Go there, show. This is what makes you stand out from Smallville and Buffy.
