Sy-Fy seeks new space opera

I have a few things I could pitch to them but I doubt they'd listen to me, considering I have precisely zero showbiz experience. :lol:

I'll just keep writing books and hope one of them sells and gets turned into a movie or something.

DAMN IT! REVOLUTION!!!! :klingon::klingon::klingon::klingon:

It has a great premise and a promising cast. What is the hold up, you Skiffy bastards????

Moar Farscape would be awesome winsauce.

At this point, it should come back as a sequel to itself. They shouldn't just jump back in where they left off, rather we could meet up with the characters 5-6 years after "The Peacekeeper Wars." That way we can have Little Dargo be a teenager or something due to PK genetic engineering.

Just jump forward in time. Browder & Black should have no problem playing a tad older than they are; makeup will help if needed.

I don't suppose there's any avenue for civilians like us/me to pitch a space opera to them? :D I've been working on one for 15 years.
Me too! What's yours about? :D
They should go all-out and make an actual, literal space OPERA. :lol:

Klingon Opera! I'd watch it! But then I'm insane!!!

Oh, so now the execs say they want "something like Firefly". Not seven years ago when it might have mattered, oh no.....

Sci-Fi or whatever they're calling themselves these days already had a "space opera" show and they canceled it at short notice despite it being the number one reason why they're still broadcasting.

I'm talking about Stargate SG-1. Never mind, though, I'm sure Eureka's doing well for you.

Corrected.

Well you know, on the topic of 'Trek, post Romulus Destruction would be a interesting "Wild west" era for 'Trek to get into in regards to the Original Timeline.

If I was going to go with something other than 'Trek-- and frankly, I think 'Trek on SyFy would be a iffy idea and execution at best-- I would say dig out some of old classics and base a series around them. Lensman, Foundation, etc.

The could always dust off the Pegasus sets from the BSG storage lockers and do that Lost in Space TV series or, maybe, a return to Space 1999 (of course 2099 now though).

I'm sorry to say this - being a Trek fan - but I think that a new series so soon after the success of the new movie is a horrible idea. We do not want to oversaturate the market again with another Trek series. Let's keep it a movie property for a little while and then in about I'd say at least three years (more like four) start a new TV show. Though I do agree a TV Series set in the Prime universe could be interesting, but it'd be confusing for people who aren't fans or may have been pulled in by the new film and only want that continuity.
