Add to the fact the whole furore over the "Were filming in Dubai!" thing which ultimately was pointless (The desert was mostly CG'd anyway) and you have a waste of an episode, a waste of some actors and the waste of license fee money that that pile of crap episde episode was.

I liked "Planet of the Dead" and "The Next Doctor" but I agree those episodes were kind of weakish, moreso because they were specials and you just expect more from them than from the average episode.
That was an odd trailer, more like a random clip. But it sure is intriguing. I liked the interaction between the Mars base leader and the Doctor. And the way the Doctor talked to the possessed guy, that was priceless.

Hmmm, "origin of the Ice Warriors" maybe? Guess: the water contains some sort of microbe that infects humans and this turns them into what later become known as Ice Warriors...sorta like Species.

^ I've been saying that since the two aired last year. It's certainly a dissenting opinion though. TUATW, Fear Her and POTD are the only episodes I have no desire to watch ever again.

I certainly hope there's minimal Murray Gold music this time around, just as it is in this clip (well, the clip has no music, hah). It was certainly creepy but still quintessentially Doctor Who, but I'm afraid that blaring trumpets and hyperactive drums would have ruined the serious creep factor.

No, its more like lately he doesn't seem to know to hold back when appropriate, to the point of overcompensating. I thought it was a major, major distraction from Planet of the Dead, a lighthearted romp that was poorly scored.
And I say this as a loyal iTunes customer who's bought some of Gold's tracks for every series since the Series 1 + 2 soundtrack came out.
Murray Gold and RTD are exactly alike: Utter genius with no self-control. I would love someone new for music on DW.
PotD was a most average piece of mindless TV fluff. To rank with Doctor's Daughter VotD takes that award for me. I find Michele Ryan more appealing than Kylie Minogue. But, both got shit villains. I want to go back in time to the moment RTD writes the introduction of "Max", and punch him squarely in the mouth.
I would still rather do a thesis on VotD than even admit The Doctor's Daughter exists. I mean, fuck that piece of crap. Physical nausea. That's what it is. Physical nausea. Bad television. I demand my entertainment be of a higher caliber...
