This game is designed to give fans all the answers they've been looking for.

What answers? The C&C series hasn't exactly been difficult to understand, the only question I have is how Kane came back to life... twice!

Sweet, good to hear EA are ending the main C&C series of games while they're ahead. Incidentally, the time between C&C 3 and 4 has been the shortest, only three years, compared to four years between C&C and TS, and eight years - seven if we're counting Firestorm - between TS and C&C3.

I have never cared for RTS's on consoles either.

I am psyched that C&C 4 is coming out and is going to resolve the Tiberium story. It's been a long time coming.

While I don't buy the argument as much with FPS games (I've played them on consoles and PCs for a long time and at this point I think the M&K argument is mostly incorrect), playing a RTS game with a game pad just doesn't work. The way they have to set the menus up, the way you select units, it's all far less intuitive, it's cumbersome, and above all slow.

What I don't understand is, with all the new capabilities inherent in today's consoles, and with people shelling out $100+ for guitars and band equipment and WiiFit pads, is why people still aren't interested in a M&K peripheral so that they CAN play things like FPS games properly.

^Exactly, it's simply a matter of the control scheme just not working on a joypad. Depite many, many attempts, nobody has ever succeeded in finding a new one.

The radial interface in Kane Wrath and read alert 3 works well (not as good as the M/K method of course)

Its down to MS and Sony not letting companies use them (although you could use M & K method on the ps3 version of UT:3)

I'm a console snob and think RTS on consoles suck ass--even the ones designed for consoles like Halo Wars and Civilization: Revolutions.

I believe you can use a mouse/keyboard on the PS3 so porting RTSs to that console shouldn't be too much of an issue. The real problem comes from the stigma surrounding the genre on consoles. If people aren't going to buy it, the publishers aren't going to sell it.

As far as the 360 is concerned, I remember hearing a while back that MS had some back room deals with PC companies saying that they wouldn't get involved in PC development and that MS consoles have avoided using mouse/keyboards so that they don't infringe on that deal. I don't know how true that is but I can see it happening.

You can put the keyboard on your lap and the mouse on the couch to your side. I do it all the time and it isn't that big of a deal. As a matter of fact, I'm doing it right now lol. Its almost like using a laptop while you're on the couch.

I'm a console snob and think RTS on consoles suck ass--even the ones designed for consoles like Halo Wars and Civilization: Revolutions.

The sole problem is selecting and directing units and moving around the map efficiently. You simply can't do that quickly with a game pad. Turn based strategy games are a whole other situation, and there have been plenty of good ones on consoles over the years. Real time games are just too fast paced.
