Well since Jim doesn't seem to be doing it, I think I'll put up today's thread.

Day Two Tonight on BBC One and HD at 9pm

Torchwood are forced underground, as the government takes swift and brutal action. With members of the team being hunted down, only Lois holds the key to Torchwood's salvation - but she is helpless as her superiors make plans for the mysterious Floor 13.

Aw, you added a pic... I was gonna suggest this:

Looking forward to this. If they keep up last week's momentum, we'll be laughing.

Love how Yato took time out to follow H&S rules and got a yellow jacket a hard hat and builder boots to drive the digger he would go far in the civil service.
And can we have more Naked Jack chained to a bed.

Yeah terrible sniper!

I voted awe inspiring again, more sedate and slow burning but every bit as good. Two episodes down, two episodes bloody brilliant...I really hope they can keep it up!

Lois is growing on me, and I love the older MI5/456 guy.

and Rhys...always thinking with his stomach!

8/10 - not quite as great as yesterday's RTD masterpiece, but still keeping the quality way higher than previously, and with a good mystery going.

Loses a bit for the hit-woman being a bit of a rubbish actress (clearly going for the Claudia Black/Aeryn Sun mood and totally missing), Jack's recovery from being in bits just a little too far fetched even by DW/Torchwood standards, and the bad guys' sniper being unbelievably incompetent. But if that's the worst this season has to offer, it's going to end up a classic.

I've managed to remain spoiler-free and can't wait to find out what the 456 are and what they want...

I voted bloody good because I think the later eps will be even better.

I'm sure Jack's cell seemed bigger when they were pouring in the concrete; it must have been some quick drying stuff too!

I'm thinking at the end of the week it may very well be awe inspiring, too. But I'm gonna wait for the entire series to finish before voting though.
Started out action packed, then slowed down in to a political thriller, then went in to the absurd at the end.

Can i just say WORST SNIPER EVER.

Graduate of the Generic Villainous Lackey School of Marksmanship.

Love how Gwen has loss of hearing and disorientation from getting caught in the blast yet Ianto is straight on his feet dodging sniper fire. He's just that badass. Must be the Daddy issues.

Not bad, dialogue as sharp as last time. Typical ridiculous Torchwood action scenes (that one sexually-charged firearms training session with Jack back in Series 1 really worked out for Gwen "Guns and Gaps" Cooper) but good to see the team managing to pull it together despite losing the SUV and the Hub.

Rhys was useful yay!!

Welsh Council Estate types can outwit trained government agents. Is it worrying that I find this completely plausible?

Jack is most definitely an impossible thing. Agent Bitchqueen (couldn't they afford Claudia Black, ffs?! Edit: damn, lonemagpie beat me to it!) is really pissed she's not able to kill him.

And the government tech bloke (or Evil Q, as I shall henceforth call him) is f**king creepy, even if that WAS the naffest cliffhanger to end on given the awesomeness of yesterdays'...

Love how Yato took time out to follow H&S rules and got a yellow jacket a hard hat and builder boots to drive the digger he would go far in the civil service.

I burst out laughing when I saw that, seemed a tad silly, but knowing how Ianto is, not surprising.

And can we have more Naked Jack chained to a bed.
After seeing that fat guy naked on a bed, I was glad of that shot!

Ok, Day Two wasn't as good as Day One, but was still was fucking fantastic.

Just a few musings on the episode.

  • The MI5 chap seems either that he knows more or he's just getting a perverse kick out of it all.
  • I don't think the Doctor should be involved - Torchwood have never gotten his help before, plus at the moment it's HMG vs Torchwood.
  • That was one bloody big explosion.
  • The cheese is still there and it's good cheese. - The cafe scene comes to mind
  • Where the others killed all Torchwood or as my lil bro suspects, were UNIT?

More naked Captain Jack please!

Seriously, I enjoyed the episode too, but I still think that Gwen would not have got away with being an undertaker's assistant dressed like that.

Roll on 9pm tomorrow night!

im in a critical mood this evening

what has changed after tonights episode, other than the Torchwood gang being in London and a few other minor details?

this is what I do not like about serialised programs, you build to a cliffhanger (which to be fair was a good one) then spend far too much of the next episode undoing the cliffhanger, which this episode actually made worse, unless Jack is in some way changed by being inside a concrete block, most of the episode was for nothing.

and yeah I thought Claudia Black would have been good in the role as "Agent Bitchqueen"
