Do you like Pina Coladas?

... and getting caught in the rain?

We've talked beer, wine, and hard alcohol, so let's face it, we all like some sort of fruffy umbrella drink what's your favorite?

I have to go with the Blue Hawaiian:
1 oz light rum
2 oz pineapple juice
1 oz Blue Curacao
1 oz cream of coconut
garnish:
1 slice of pineapple
1 cherry
 
I like Pina Coladas, theres one from I think Red Lobster that uses stawberries in it that I want to try one time if I can find the recipe.
 
I hate pina coladas, but that's because I hate coconut.

I'd have to say that my favorite girly drink would be a Hawaiian Volcano (at least that's what we call it at TGI Fridays).

3/4 oz Southern Comfort
3/4 oz Amaretto
3/4 oz Vodka
1.5 oz Pineapple Juice
1.5 oz Orange Juice
1/8 oz Lime Mix
Dash of Grenadine for color

Garnish: Lemon, Lime, and Orange squeeze
 
I love strawberry caipirinhas:


  • 1 small lime cut into cubes
  • 2 teaspoons of brown sugar
  • 2 parts Cachaca
  • 2 parts strawberry puree
  • 1/2 part strawberry liqueur
 
Do Cognac Alexanders count?

Cognac, dark creme de cacao, and cream, on ice. Yummy.
 
I stay away from anything that might have pineapple juice, strawberries, or most other fruits. So my "girly" drink of choice is a chocolate martini.
 
I believe that sweet things and alcohol should be kept far away from each other at all times. I've got a reasonable tolerance for alcohol in most forms, but mix it with something sweet and I'm fall-down drunk with a huge headache 15 minutes later. Sweet cocktails are an invention of the devil.

1. 1 1/4 oz Malibu Coconut Rum

2. 4 oz Pine Colada mix...they use Island Oasis but I don't think you can buy that in stores. There are a variety of colada mixes available in stores.

3. Add ice and blend. Make sure it's thick.

4. Pour into glass (duh) leaving about 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch space at top.

5. Top with strawberry mix. Again they use Island Oasis but any should do. Try to find the kind that comes frozen (it's thicker) rather than the runny bottled stuff.

6. Garnish with fresh strawberry and a pineapple wedge.

7. Enjoy.

8. Do NOT tell the Lobster Police I am passing around their recipes.:lol:

Sorry, my brain is a little fried today from the Independence Day festivities.
 
I do like pina coladas--bay breezes and sea breezes, too, especially when made with Malibu Rum. But I will only drink them on the ferry from Cape May, NJ to Lewes, DE or at the ports. Further in-land and it's beer, Scotch and occasionally a whiskey sour (made w/ Jameson's).
 
I don't drink much anymore, but my main girly drink back in the day was a Midori Sour. I have no idea how you make it but sometimes it would be a cool fluorescent green color.

Midori + Sweet & Sour = Midori Sour ;)

Midori is a green melon-flavored liqueur, and Sweet & Sour is yellow (think of it like really concentrated lemonade). That is where the color comes from.

If the drink is green, it's probably got Midori in it.
