Let's not let John Cho get screwed by TBTB the way George Takei did. We need to make it known that when this current incarnation of Trek films starts to wind down, nuSulu needs to take command of the nuEnterprise-B, and get the JJ-verse version of the spin off that George always wanted.

With 700-something filmed episodes, I'm betting the TV audience is a bit tired of Trek on TV. They've overkilled that horse. Keep it as a film every 3-7 years and they'll do ok.

Eh, I don't know about that one... I can't see John Cho doing a Star Trek series.

Series of films, not a television series, for if/when Pine and Quinto decide to go on to other things. Which is pretty much what the plan was for Takei. TPTB didn't build those massive Excelsior bridge set for "The Undiscovered Country" for just the few scenes that appeared in that film, but planned to reuse that set, again and again. And there's a reason that when Sulu bid farewell to Kirk, his whole bridge crew was gathered around him like a cast promo pic. Because that's pretty much what it was. It was intended as our formal introduction to the crew and set of what would have become the Enterprise B in later films. It was meant to be a passing of the torch scene.

Anyways, I think we should wait for Cho to really show himself as capable of being a lead actor in a movie like this before we start demanding that he gets his own movies.

Quality Television will draw viewers. The TV series have always been better than the films, and as long as the films continue to be a one trick pony, their lifespan is bound to be limited anyway.

Oh, so very wrong, starting with the Excelsior bridge. Just like the Reliant and Grissom bridges in their films, the Excelsior bridge was simply a redress of the Enterprise bridge.

I do kind of agree with that; except that it's not a one-trick pony, but rather all the chips on the line. Sudden death if it doesn't spin right.
