Farewall to a loyal and loving dog

Whenever I hear about a pet dog dying I always try and think it was wonderful that the dog got to grow up in a loving household where it got to share in so much of the joy and happiness they brought.

My sympathies. :( Magus looked like a charmer.

It's excruciating to watch your pet's health slowly grind away, knowing that you're eventually going to have to make a decision you really don't want to make. You might know the time's coming for years, and still you aren't prepared when they go.

I lost my 16 year cocker in late April. I'm still tore up over it.

I guess we were lucky with Magus. He pretty much went down hill over night so fortunately he didn't have any suffering. Mum felt we probably waited a bit long with Jenna our German Shepard but the was the hope she'd just go quietly on her own at home.

He was that vets the other week and was given a clean bill of health and his heart was still strong.

We though we were going to lose him on Mother's day last year (mum tossed up whether to take him to the vet that night). He would just lie about didn't want to eat or drink but he would move - something he didn't do this time after mum found him in the kennel but he 80% was back to his usually self the next morning and right as rain within a couple of days.

Oh I don't think there will be any complaints from Magus about his lifestyle. Sleeping inside on mat, good food, walks, belly rubs, pats, getting the paper, Bella, treats - basically he lived the good life :)

I'm sorry to hear about that Marc. The loss of a pet can be a very tough thing. I wish you and your family all the best.

Rest in peace, Magus. You helped make a great life for him, Marc, and in return, I know he showed you endless love and loyalty and laughter.
Well done--both of you.
