JJ Enterprise Model Kit

Thanks Nathan, it's good to be back. Now that things have settled down a little at my new job, I should be getting back to logo designs really soon so stay tuned. As for the JJ Enterprise model kit can't wait either. I just hope that some company like Voodoo FX makes a lighting kit for it complete with the "spinning blades" in the front of the nacelles.

BTW, the release states that the kit is going to be 1/2500 with a length of 11.5 inches. So that would make the length of the new Enterprise roughly 718-720 meters. If i'm wrong on this please correct me I suck when it comes to calculating this.

This might be old news, but I thought that I would share it with you guys and gals anyway. Well it looks offical, Round 2 is going to release a kit of the Enterprise from Star Trek 2009. You can read the official release here

No, you got it right, JJ tried to turn the Enterprise into a Star Destroyer.

2,375 feet long, to be precise. According to sources at ILM, and John Eaves.

It's the most beautiful Enterprise. I'm definitely going to buy one. That is, assuming it's available over here.

To those of us who don't buy it being that large..I'll be treating the 1/2500 scale Nu Enterprise as 1/1000 scale to add to the rest of my 1/1000 collection.:techman:

Clearly some new definition of the word "beautiful" with which many of us are not familiar. My personal opinion is that it's hideously deformed, grossly oversized, and looks like it was designed by a lobotomized gibbon.

No, it's not a new definition of the word "beautiful", just personal taste -- everybody has it, you know. Some more then others. :p

As a nature lover, I take exception to the implied insult to gibbons, who have been known to create better looking things than the JJ-prise while flinging poo at passing tourists.

There is still a long way to go before the Enterprise is nearly the size of a Star Destroyer, which is 1600 m long and 1000 m wide. Super Star Destroyers are even larger than the Narada.

Ah well thank god everyone has this thing called an opinion.

It's quite a beautiful ship actually.
