Hey, have you ever met Diane Duane? What is she like? I have been to several conventions and I have never seen her at one. She is the writer I most remember from those early years of TREK lit.

Diane lives in Ireland (for the last 20 years or so) so I would imagine she doesn't make it to many American cons. Maybe she does the UK ones though?

Would love to know her opinion of how Star Trek went after her book efforts in terms of direction (DS9 ect) and the new movie. She, for me at least, is the DC FONTANA of the books. Some of my best memories of Star Trek books, from that time, come from her books.

Then, when the Bloodwing Voyages omnibus and The Empty Chair finally came out, the decision was reversed -- TEC was written to take place post-TMP, and the previous books in TBV had their text revised to make it clear that the whole Rihannsu series took place after TMP.

Except for the bits that were missed, like references to the crew wearing the 5YM uniforms in MEMA.
