USS KITTY HAWK NCC-1904

Klondike307

Lieutenant Commander
Red Shirt
I posted a very early attempt at a small tos/tmp scout ship sometime ago and finally got around to finishing it. It is 3 decks and has a crew of about 20. As always, comments and criticisms are welcome.

Here is a is a pic of the ship after a rough landing

Not destroyed; just crash-landed.

The crew survived, repaired the ship, relaunched her and she limped all the way home.

They ALL survived?

Even the helmsman who slept through Toboggan Training at the Academy...?

Really...?

OR...

Maybe it DIDN'T survive...

Anyone besides me notice that the registry on the ship in the images shown is USS Kitty Hawk NCC-1903?

Even though the name of this thread is USS Kitty Hawk NCC-1904...?

Maybe there's a cover-up at the highest levels of Star Fleet Command...

STAR FLEET SHIPYARDS, SAN FRANCISCO, EARTH...

"Attention, all personnel. Attention..."

"There is no such vessel registry as NCC-1903. That registry number has never existed. USS Kitty Hawk NCC-1904 is currently under construction and only SLIGHTLY behind schedule. That is all..."

Yeah, I noticed the mistake in the thread title. It is NCC 1903 because thats when the wright brothers flew in Kitty Hawk (My old home town). I added it just for fun and hadnt really decided where the ship fit in in the TOS era. I want to do a few more renders showing the crew digging the ship out reparing then leaving the planet. BTW thanks for all the great comments!

I remind you, this meeting is classified.

;)

Hmm ... that's a great back story for this ship.

Very nice design, I still would suggest to add two sensor domes about where the bridge is located like on most other TOS era ships. :)

I very much like this design! Usually, I don't care for the forward notch in the saucer - the top view looks too much like Pac Man, but it works well in this instance.

I like the fact that the bridge isn't obvious. It seems like most Federation starships make their bridges TOO obvious. All they need is a bullseye painted - "aim torpedoes here."

Since we see the ship-that-must-not-be-named :shifty: crash-landed on a planet, does that mean she is capable of planetary landings, a' la Voyager, or did the helmsman REALLY screw up?

Yeah, I've modeled landing gear for the ship on Deck 3. Its hard to make out in the first pic but there is an air lock where deck 3 is cut out at the rear of the ship

More to come!
