Just got my DST/AA Enterprise-D and the AGT version.

Just got my DST/AA Enterprise-D and the AGT version. I think these maybe the best ships DST/AA has put out. They are the most model like of the ships so far. If you have the ERTL 1400 Ent-D then these should be very familiar to you.

The major problem I have is with the D-version it has a different paint scheme than the AGT-version on the neck. The AGT has light aztecing and windows. The D-version has heavy aztecing and no windows. I amy not sure if this is because this one is an early version as most people this don't list the D as available yet, but I much prefer the AGT neck.

Almost no light bleed on the D at all, the AGT only has light bleed on the bridge.

The windows are painted but not indented like on the classic Ent but that is fine with me I am thinking of getting another E-E and taking a sharpie to it. Takes me back to the good ole days of the ERTL 1:1400 series models.

Another thing these toys (models) are heavy, much heavier than the ETRL versions. They seem very solid, and if you had any questions about the magnet idea for the saucer separation. Do not worry, these are very strong magnets indeed.

The more I look at them the more impressed I am at this $39 toy (model). You very skilled modelers may not feel the same but this thing easily surpasses anything that I was able to do with my many attempts at the ETRL Ent-D.

I cannot wait for the rest of the ship line to come out. Knowing DST/AA I will be waiting and waiting and waiting.

Too bad the Ent-B won't be in scale with either the TOS ship line (NX-01, 1701-classic, 1701-refit, 1701-A) or the TNG ship line (1701-D, 1701-D-AGT, 1701-E).

...still I can't wait.

Thanks GLS, those Pics ALMOST sold me, but I noticed there are no AZTEC patterns on the saucer section?

Looks really good...except for the neck on the regular D. It looks very...unfinished. I wonder if you got one that somehow didn't get finished. Even one of the early photos I've seen on various store websites show a fully detailed neck, windows and all. Check out tfaw.com's page.

I got the "All Good Things" edition at my local comic book store and overall? Fantastic.

I do have one gripe. The battery cover underneath the ship is a PAIN to get open. It fits in too securely and trying to pry it out dents the sides. Ouch.

Those look completely different, I hope we don't have false advertising on our hands. And mine BETTER look like the one from ftaw.com! :scream:

From all that I seen all the early release regular version of the E-D do NOT have windows on the neck. The E-AGT does have windows, though neither are molded in the cast.

I got my AGT version a couple of weeks ago and I was wondering if anyone else has a loose seam along the neck where the refitted inpulse engines are connected. Mine is is on the right side of it. It looks like I'm not the only one from some of the pics. Otherwise it looks awsome. If it wasn't for that it would be perfect. I get my E-D tomorrow

My regular Ent-D should be here monday. It looks like I'm gonna have to find a way to paint the windows on the neck myself...

I've been experimenting, so far I tried carefully poking holes in a strip of duct-tape and applying it to the plastic cover on some blank dvd's I have, then painting over that. After a minute to dry I pealed it off and it was close but a bit too sloppy. Am now looking to refine the process... MY Ent-D WILL have windows on the neck so help me god!!! :scream:

:shifty:

It might be better to just wait for the Second release of the E-D.( you know it's only a matter of time);)

You could be right. After further experimentation the duct tape idea is insufficient... Oh well... dumb idea anyways...

My E-D had been ordered and on it's way. Here's my idea to put windows on that neck: Measure the dimensions of the neck, create a graphic, and print it on sticker paper. I'm hoping the curve of the neck will allow something like that to lay flat. I guess we'll see once it arrives. Seems like a really basic detail for them to miss, especially since the AGT ship has the neck details and since it took them so long to release the thing.
