Sequel/Transformers 2: we're in trouble

Original Transformers was crap ----> Star Trek was great

Transformers 2 was crap ----> nuTrek 2 will be crap

Illogical.

Unfortunately, for those of us who feel:

Original Transformers was crap ----> Star Trek was crap,

the idea that:

Transformers 2 was crap ----> nuTrek 2 will be crap

carries a lot more weight.

If all four movies are crap perhaps you should rethink your movie-viewing strategy.

I have even more respect for Michael Bay now that I've read the USA Today article.

The man isn't ashamed to admit: He likes popcorn feel-good movies where a lot of stuff blows up. What's not to love about that? At least he's honest. Not every movie in existence has to be this hand-wringing existential ultra-serious Dogma 95 crap. Sometimes you just want to have FUN.

But all the reviews I've read have called it boring. Apparently, two and a half hours of explosions isn't fun.

Wow I might not even see Transformers 2 now.

Apparently One of the Transformers has "balls". Yes, Balls.

Also there are 2 blatantly racist stereotypes of African Americans.

And 5 comic relief Transformers?

WTF?

I think it will be good for Trek 12 if Tr2 fails miserably. They'll be extra careful and take their time with Trek 12. But most importantly, they'll learn from their mistakes. Based on how good Trek11 was, I'm willing to give these guys the benefit of the doubt regarding Trek 12.

If that's Orci and Kurtzman's idea of a big blockbuster sequel....

We're in huge trouble.

Transfomers, Revenge of the Fallen. Worst 'big' film this past decade. Awful garbage. Boring, over-long, a giant mess, horrible editing, pathetic acting and script and terrible pacing. That's two and a half hours of my life I'd like back.

Trek 2 could be in trouble. Hopefully it's mostly Bay's fault.

I'd blame Bay, but I've also noticed besides Kurtzman and Orci's name is one repeat offender for craptacular movies: Ehren Kruger. Yes, the same Kruger who brought us Reindeer Games, Scream 3, The Ring, and The Ring Two.

Interesting. I guess that means Kruger is worse than John Logan. I didn't think that was possible.

The Hollywood press - and the studios - typically use the biggest names to promote the film, but that doesn't mean they did most of the work.

Star Trek 2009: Minor hit, but a novelty that has no legs.
:rommie::guffaw:Oh!:rommie::guffaw:Please!:rommie::guffaw:Stop!:rommie::guffaw:No more!:rommie::guffaw:That was so funny I can't breathe!:rommie::guffaw:I meant it!:rommie::guffaw:My sides are hurting!:rommie::guffaw:STOP!:rommie::guffaw:

Too much drama... so I put in my Transformers DVD. It is not as bad as some here are claiming. TF1 is a fun romp. They actually DO explain what is happening as it progresses, if only people were not too busy complaining to pay attention.

The real problem is that Starfleet didn't take the destruction of the Kelvin more seriously.

Based on TOS, ships disappearing didn't seem to be that unusual.

One thing I like about ST's vision of space exploration. They send lone ships out, they disappear, they just keep sending more.

Which is how the oceans were explored on Earth, sea-faring vessels went out and were just never heard from again.
