Chartman is furiously charting this situation and will chart a chart momentarily.

Down 18.8% from last Friday.

If it follows last week it will do: $4.4m - down 18.5%

However its fathers day, Iron Man fell just 4% on Fathers Day. If Trek does the same it will do: $5.03 million - down 7%

Either way, the movie will cross the quarter-billion mark before she leaves domestic theaters. A record for a TREK movie by any standard, even comparing the previous big winners adjusted for inflation.

I'd say it's a safe bet the earliest draft of the #12 script is already under works.;)

Which means we *MIGHT* see it in theaters as early as Thanksgiving or Christmas of 2011 if they strike while the iron's still hot.

Woah woah slow down there--wouldn't it be better to repeat in the Summer to ensure blockbuster status?

Although hey, the sooner the better in my fanboy eyes.

I believe it was mentioned that Paramount were aiming for Summer 2011. Key phrase here is "aiming for."

I think the only thing stopping them announcing a date in 2011 is JJ deciding whether or not he wants to direct.

I recommend waiting 5 years or preferably 7 before making another film.

This will allow fans to forget what this one was about.
