Today was the last day of my 20s, and it was grand. I'd initially thought it was going to be just God-awful, but it turned out to be pretty fantasteriffic.

I recently turned 26. I'm now officially closer to 30 than 20, which scares the hell out of me. Not so much the getting older part, but I still have no more of an idea of what I want to do with my life than I did when I graduated from university 2 years ago -- yeah, I guess I don't feel a day older than 24. Also, I sometimes get wistful and think that I haven't experienced as much out of life as I should have. Geez, if I'm feeling like I wasted my youth now, how am I going to be when I reach my thirties?

Anyway, maybe it won't be so bad. Your comments are encouraging doubleohfive -- maybe I'll feel the same way when my 30th rolls around.

I was homeless on my 30th birthday. I had been turfed out of my rented accomodation due to my lease expiring, and the purchase of my new house had still to go through yet, leaving me with nowhere to live.

It was a most unpleasant 3 months as I was forced to doss on couches and people's floors for the whole thing. Luckily I had plenty of friends who helped me out.

Happy birthday though doubleoh, my 30s have been generally brilliant so far

As for my thirtieth, it came and went without fanfare or emotion. I don't celebrate birthdays so it was just another day to me. But I don't really "feel" my age anyway. I am 34 but going on 12 and plan to keep it that way until I am 105. Besides, it is all in how you feel and has nothing to do with some number on a calendar.
