Lana Lang's "Special" Destiny What Do You Think the Legion Meant?

I watched Legion again recently and have been wondering what Lana's special destiny was supposed to be that Imra (Saturn Girl) mentioned to her in their discussion. Surely it wasn't to become Kryptonite Woman and forever be toxic to Clark? The writer of the episode was of course Geoff Johns and I'm pretty sure that he didn't even mean that to happen to Lana, he was probably handcuffed by the showrunners as to what he could mention about Lana. Lana's fate in Smallville is one of things that bothers me about it, they handled her exit horribly and ruined her character and forced me to consider Smallville as an alternate reality now. What do you think Imra meant?

Ahh, but that's just a small part of what happened to Lana. Remember, she's still superhuman, and she's dedicated to doing good. Sure, she can't be around Clark, but her whole life and identity shouldn't be defined merely as an extension of a man. Indeed, being forced to stay apart from Clark frees her up to become her own independent superwoman, and thus potentially gives her a greater destiny than she would've had being just Kal-El's Gal Pal. So it all fits together perfectly. Her destiny is to establish a heroic identity of her own that has nothing to do with the Last Son of Krypton and is thus not overshadowed by him.

Of course, what they really meant was that they were writing Lana out of the show for good but wanted to give her character a positive resolution. So they compensated for "You'll never be seen on the show again" by adding "But you're going on to a great destiny offscreen."

She's destined to have a TV series about her where the writers will worship the ground she walks on, come up with story ideas based on whatever is going through their minds while jerking off to her image, and no matter what happens on the show she'll be perfect and righteous while everyone else is wrong.

How come Kara didn't have a destiny?

Wait?

Teri Hatcher got loaded down with this same shit by Tempus Fugit.

"people write books about you as long as my arm, why you even have your own breakfast cereal."

That only turned out to be about being the focal point for an inspiring love story and making Super babies, right?

I wonder what Lois will learn of Lana's destiny in the future?

how bad is Street Fighter going to bomb (8.7 million dollars domestic in 11 weeks. That's not good, right?) for this tiny actress to crawl back to Smallville. which again promises all these actors that they have no destiny after Smallville... John and Michael haven't done much since their escape. Heroes, really? That show is becoming such a turd.

What the fuck is PG Porn????????

I mean seriously! Is there a more famous bald kid from comics he could play on TV?

Charlie Freaking Brown!

Thank you. I was glombing the idea but the format was not completely unvieled at the point I asdked the question... I can't stream till tomorrow morning when certain people are asleep, so I guess I'll figure out on what goodness I am missing then.

Death at a Funeral by the way is a rather dismal comedy that has Alan Tuduk's bare bum playing a major roll in the picture. :)

Or maybe her special destiny is to be the "other woman" that Lois Lane has an epic Pay Per View catfight with that breaks all records.

How would it break records? They're both on like their 14th concussion. The fight would last five seconds and then they'd both fall down dead due to massive brain damage.

I'd rather Chloe and Lois have a naked threesome with Tess. As for Guy's off handed question about Kara's question, I remember there being rumors last season that there were fast tracked plans to have a Supergirl spin off starring Laura Vandervoort. However since the producers foolishly decided to drop her at the end of season seven and give her a shitty few minutes in season eight to wrap up her storyline I guess those plans were dropped. I think it was around the time that the awful Grayons was being pitched to CW.
