I adore the fact that Spock is such a Mama's boy. Course, he was in TOS when Amanda told Mc Coy about the "Vulcan teddy bear," but it makes her death all that poignant and it really opens the way for him to have feelings for Uhura.

I do understand; I'm from Tucson, where it's 101 every day for three months. We like it that way, but it's plain stupid to run during the day time.

I must say I didn't like that episode, and I found Spock's behaviour totally out of character, it didn't feel like it was Spock at all. Being emotional is one thing, we've seen Spock convincinlgy show emotions many times... what made it convincing is that he was trying to control his emotions, and then they came out when he would lose control because of an outside influence overtaking him or an extreme emotional shock.Trying desperately to get back on the topic...I've just seen another TOS episode, "The Cloud Minders". This one I remembered well, even after 20 years. How could you forget Spock hitting on a woman and mentionning Pon Farr to her!
He's already attractive when he's not trying so when he's trying, he's lethal
And he's not under the influence of alien spores, of time regression or playing spy. He's himself, that's what makes it really hot.
But here... well,actually, he did not even look emotional with her! he was just flirting with her and complimenting her beauty right away, right after they met, like it's the most normal thing for him. It felt like it was some other man.
It was only worse because the girl didn't seem like someone Spock would be interested in, IMO. She was spoiled and pampered, didn't seem to have a great intellect or personality, and I didn't even think she was that good-looking as we were supposed to think.
And he calls her a "work of art" straight away - come on, this is Spock, who needed to be mind-melded with a friendly Medusan ambassador to be able to tell Uhura she was beautiful, and she was certainly more beautiful than Droxine
Who felt surprised at himself when he called Zarabeth beautiful, and shocked at his 'barbaric' behaviour and had to tell himself that there was nothing wrong about it - and that was when he was 'regressing' into an Ice Age Vulcan!

ya know, I always thought it was much... uhh... easier for Liz Bennett to "fall" for Darcy once she and her aunt and uncle took a trip to Darcy's mansion in Pemberley.

OT: I thought PineKirk was at his sexiest during the KM test... and NuSpock was at his sexiest during his *eff u* to the VSA. loved both scenes to death.
Standing there on the bridge, looking at the property, it was more than clear that Pemberley was by no means beyond her dreams of avarice. She was fairly dripping with it, as we all were...
Kirk was at his sexiest when trying to make love to the Orion girl. The less he's wearing, the better.
